Introduction: Remarks before publication
Higher vocational education is an important part of higher education in China. Its fundamental task is to cultivate and bring up high-tech applied talents who can meet the needs of the front line of production, construction, management and service and develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically. In recent years, higher vocational education has developed rapidly and its macro-scale has undergone historic changes. In order to meet the needs of China's social progress and economic development, the teaching mode and methods of higher vocational education need to be continuously reformed, and the teaching materials of higher vocational education must also be adjusted and positioned to highlight their own characteristics. Therefore, with the support, guidance and help of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information Industry, Electronic Industry Press has set up a national leading group for the construction of teaching materials for higher vocational education, with several editorial boards including applied electronic technology, electromechanical integration technology, electrical automation technology and communication technology. The members of the editorial board of each major are composed of experts, professors, senior engineers and first-line excellent teachers who have worked hard and achieved outstanding results in the electronic information front and have rich teaching experience in higher vocational education.
From June 5438 to October 2002 10, the editorial boards of four majors, such as applied electronic technology, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology and communication technology, carefully organized outstanding front-line teachers in China to compile more than 60 new textbooks on electronic information planning for higher vocational education in the 20th century. The main features of these textbooks are:
1. In terms of compiling methods, it breaks the tendency of paying too much attention to "systematicness" in previous textbooks, abandons some general contents and complicated mathematical derivation, adopts a gradual and selective compiling mode, emphasizes practical and practical attributes, refines theories and highlights practical skills, and makes the content system more reasonable;
2. Pay attention to the real social development and employment needs, aim at cultivating the comprehensive ability of professional post groups, enrich the content of training modules, strengthen the application, and cultivate students' strong vocational skills in a targeted manner;
3. The setting of teaching materials is conducive to expanding students' thinking space and students' autonomous learning; Pay attention to cultivating and improving students' comprehensive quality, make students have strong innovation ability and promote students' personality development;
4. The content of the textbook fully embodies the new knowledge, new technology, new technology and new method, and is advanced and advanced.
The first batch of more than 60 kinds of teaching materials will be published in August 2003. All higher vocational colleges involved in compiling textbooks have a common desire: through the joint efforts of the leading group for textbook construction, the editorial board and all the authors, these textbooks will have new ideas in compiling guiding ideology, content and methods, highlight the characteristics of higher vocational education, and meet the needs of higher vocational students in learning and employment.
The reform of higher vocational education and the construction of teaching materials are a long-term task, which will not happen overnight, but will go through a development process. There are still many shortcomings in the publication of these higher vocational education textbooks. With the deepening of educational reform and the continuous development of China's economy and science and technology, the reform and development of teaching materials in higher vocational colleges will go hand in hand for a long time. With the guidance and help of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information Industry, we will, as always, rely on experts in this industry, keep close contact with teaching and research personnel in the front line of scientific research and teaching, strengthen cooperation, keep pace with the times, and constantly explore and gradually improve various professional course textbooks, professional basic course textbooks, training guides, electronic lesson plans, electronic courseware and supporting textbooks to provide high-quality teaching resources and services for higher vocational education.
All members of the Teaching Materials Department of Higher Vocational Education of Electronic Industry Press earnestly hope that teachers in higher vocational colleges all over the country can actively contribute papers, put forward suggestions on topics, and put forward suggestions on various revisions to published teaching materials. The teaching purpose of specialized English is to guide students to read English books, periodicals and selected works related to their major, so that students can use English as a tool to obtain information related to their major. The teaching object of this book is students majoring in applied electronic technology in higher engineering college education and higher vocational education.
The editor of this book is a teacher who has been engaged in higher engineering colleges and higher vocational education for a long time. In terms of structure and content arrangement, this book absorbs the editor's experience in teaching reform and textbook construction, and combines the professional knowledge of electronic technology and the basic translation and reading knowledge of scientific English, striving to embody the characteristics of higher vocational and technical education and adapt to the needs of current teaching reform.
In the teaching process, we know that students have certain English reading ability after learning college English, but they will encounter many difficulties when reading professional English. The main reasons are: (1) the vocabulary of specialized English is unfamiliar; (2) Too little contact with professional materials; (3) Not familiar with the structure and genre of English scientific articles. In view of these difficulties of students, we strive to embody the following characteristics in the writing process.
1. Most of the materials in this book are selected from the original English textbooks and English materials, involving various subject types, such as textbooks, advertisements, course introduction, instructions for use, etc. Through the study and translation of various subjects, students' ability to read and understand English materials related to their majors is cultivated.
2. Combining with English teaching content, this book introduces the basic knowledge of reading and translation of scientific English in categories, so that students can master the basic skills of scientific English translation in an all-round way and lay a good foundation for broadening their knowledge and absorbing relevant professional information in their future work.
3. The teaching focus of this book is not limited to giving all kinds of specialized English vocabulary, but the application of vocabulary in various specific situations and the structure and genre of scientific English articles.
4. Considering the specific teaching arrangements and teaching objects, the content of this book is divided into 17 units, and each unit is divided into texts, reading materials, translation and reading knowledge of scientific English, writing knowledge of scientific English papers and writing knowledge of English instructions, etc. Teachers can choose according to the specific situation. If there are few class hours, you can just talk about the text; More class hours can increase the explanation of reading materials, and it is generally recommended to teach one unit (2 ~ 3 class hours) in each class. Each unit of this book has exercises after class for students to review and consolidate.
5. The contents of this book are closely combined with majors, and teachers can cultivate students' English reading and translation ability by combining students' learning with professional courses.
This book, edited by Zhu Yilun of Nanjing Jinling Institute of Technology, compiles 1 1 units and all translation knowledge. Shijiazhuang Vocational College of Information Engineering, Hebei Province compiled Unit 3, Vocational and Technical College of Hebei Normal University compiled Unit 3, and Wu Daixi of Southeast University participated in data collation and text entry.
