Qiao Feng Scenic Area is located on the bank of the ancient canal 3.5 kilometers west of Suzhou. It is a provincial-level scenic spot with Hanshan Ancient Temple, Jiangfeng Ancient Bridge, Tieling Ancient Pass, Qiao Feng Ancient Town and Ancient Canal as its main tour contents.
Hanshan Temple Maple Bridge is an important part of Suzhou's scenic resources and has unique historical and cultural value. In particular, Zhang Ji's poem "Night Sleeping by the Maple Bridge", "Frosty night, fishing in the river, Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, midnight bell to the passenger ship", is not only a household name in China, but also spread to Japan and Europe.
Jiangcun Bridge and Qiao Feng Bridge are famous since ancient times, with a history of 1 100 years. Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty was destroyed by soldiers for ten years and rebuilt in Tongzhi for six years. The ancient canal under the bridge is a section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal.
Tielingguan was built in the thirty-sixth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1557) and rebuilt in the ninth year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1829). It is also known as Qiao Feng Enemy Tower, and it is the only remaining anti-Japanese relic in Suzhou.
The ancient town of Qiao Feng consists of two pedestrian streets, Qiao Feng Street and Hanshan Temple Lane. On the one hand, facing the river, it twists and turns, maintaining the scene of every household resting by the river, with a typical canal water town style.
