Nalan Mingzhu (1635- 1708), surnamed Ye, was born in Zhenghuangqi, Manchuria, and was a powerful minister in Kangxi Dynasty. He has served as the governor of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the minister of punishments, the minister of war, the counselor of Zuodu, the university student of Wuyingdian, and the prince of Taifu. Nalan Mingzhu played an active role in Kangxi's proposal to withdraw from San Francisco, unify Taiwan Province Province and resist foreign enemies. In the twenty-seventh year of Kangxi (1688), he was dismissed for the crime of nepotism. Although he was reinstated, he was no longer reused. He died in the forty-seventh year of Kangxi (1708). His son Nalan Xingde is highly accomplished in literature.
