Reflections on "If you give me three days of light"
Recently, I read Helen Keller's autobiography "If Give Me Three Days of Light", and I was deeply touched.
Between the lines of "Give me three days of light", Helen Qin Kai's love for life is permeated, and she warmly warns the world to cherish what she is enjoying at present. She hopes to have three days of light to feel the world and make her familiar with everything around her. Helen Qin Kai wants to see too many things, but it's just a beautiful dream.
"Suffering is a stepping stone to genius ..." It is suffering that makes Helen Qin Kai's strong character. As a blind, deaf and disabled person, she has a healthy psychology beyond ordinary people. She expressed her thirst for knowledge and sincere love for mankind with what she could feel and imagine. She warned others with her own personal experience that a healthy mind is the most basic condition for human success, and a healthy person can't achieve anything without a healthy mind. Mentally healthy people, even if they are physically disabled, will not complain about the fate, will not accept and yearn for the pity of others, and will reach the other side of the ideal with their strong perseverance.
A philosopher once said, "Courage exists in the soul, not in a strong body." This is a true portrayal of Helen. In the face of adversity, Helen stood up strongly. She is really physically and mentally disabled. As for me, a healthy middle school student, I have good study conditions, but I lack perseverance. Therefore, this article gave me the greatest inspiration:
First, try your best to finish everything. A famous person once said, "What's not easy? It is not easy to insist on doing what you should do every day. What's not simple? It is not easy to do everything best. "
Second, we should have an optimistic attitude. In the face of great blows and difficulties, Helen didn't complain about others, but faced them with optimism to gain confidence. The following story also illustrates this point. Two scholars with equal grades went to Beijing to catch the exam. When they were on the road in the middle of the night, they met the funeral procession and passed the coffin. The former is very worried and thinks this is not a good sign. The latter thought: coffins, coffins, officials and wealth. So the latter won the first prize. But the former is unknown on the list, and this story can better explain that optimism is one of the important factors for success.
With this good book as my tutor, I believe my future life will be more colorful.
