1, a man of nine meanings
Adapted from Li Bojian's novel of the same name, the play tells the story that Lin Rulan, a young girl, risked her reputation to sue Wu Lian, the owner of the embroidery building, despite the opposition of her close friend Meng Wan, and finally committed suicide to prove her innocence. After seven years' efforts, Meng Wan has gathered the stories of Liu Xin and other "Nine Righteousness Men" who are inextricably linked with the Rulan case.

The play is adapted from Er Dongtu's novel of the same name.
