In the era of advocating cultural rule, Vae's contribution was rewarded by Emperor Jiaqing. At the age of 30, he became a political scholar in Hunan. The young man's success obviously brought pressure and jealousy to his colleagues in the officialdom. Less than a year after he took office, Zhao Shenqi, an imperial adviser, played nine times to participate in other needs and split the Bible, and he was bound to die. Although it was finally investigated by Chu Pengling and others, the real crime was mainly to privately engrave the new version of the audited post, so that students could buy it and benefit, but it turned Vae's life around and was directly exiled from Hunan to Yili.
18 12 winter (the seventeenth year of Jiaqing), like countless ordinary days, Vae (178 1 ~ 1848), a former scholar from Hunan, was sent to the alley of Huiyuan City from thousands of miles away. I don't know how many such ranks and literati there are among the exiles before and after! However, it seems that God destined Vae to stand out among thousands of exiles. From the day he arrived, he began to embark on a life full of dreams.
Huiyuan City, where Vae lived, has long been lost in the Ili River in the north. From the south gate of the old city built in the Qianlong period to the west, the third room under the south wall was arranged for him. This place ruined Vae's official career, but it achieved the birth of the school of geographers.
Song Jun, the general of Ili at that time, was a far-sighted government official. Aware of the importance of civil affairs in consolidating the frontier, he used the civil affairs dispatcher stationed in Yili to compile local chronicles, so Wang Tingkai and Qi Yuntu wrote a local chronicle called "A Brief Introduction to the President of Xiqiao". He wanted to continue to revise, but the arrival of Vae helped him realize this wish. This yearbook, edited by Vae for the third time, was unexpectedly favored by the newly succeeded Daoguang Emperor. 182 1 year (the first year of Daoguang) was named "A Brief Introduction to Xinjiang", which was personally prefaced and published in Fu Wuying Hall. Here, "Xinjiang", as the exclusive place name of a provincial administrative region, was first opened in the Qing Dynasty.
Jiaqing twenty-four years (18 19) was pardoned. The official is a doctor of rites. After returning from Xinjiang, except for a short time to be an official abroad, almost all Vae lived in Beijing to study. Among this group of scholars, he can be said to have stayed in Beijing for the longest time. He made some achievements in frontier writings by personally visiting the frontier and actively convened like-minded people to discuss frontier issues, which created a good atmosphere for studying and learning frontier knowledge and gathering like-minded people, and laid his "core" position. He died in the 28th year of Daoguang (1848).
