Third stop: Shanxi Folk Museum

Shanxi Folk Museum is the former site of Confucius Temple in Taiyuan. It used to be the abandoned site of Chongshan Temple, and the Confucian Temple was moved here in the eighth year of Guangxu (1882). Later, the Education Book Museum, the Book Museum and the Provincial Museum were established here, and the Shanxi Folk Museum was established in 2003. From south to north, there are Zhaobi, Hexagonal Pavilion, Stargate Tower, Dachengmen, Dacheng Hall, East-West Ring and Chongsheng Temple in turn. Feel relaxed and happy, ancient trees towering. The content of the exhibition is the history of Shanxi, which is divided into ancient and modern parts. Shanxi Art Museum covers an area of about 10000 square meters and has five courtyards. Its main buildings include four-column and three-story wooden archway, hard-topped original palace gate, Lvzu Hall, square single-room cloister pavilion, Lingbao Cave, Qianzhen Cave and Huang Yuting. The palace is surrounded by houses and brick caves, with more than 70 halls. The last two buildings are pavilion-style buildings, with patchwork and twists and turns. Taiyuan Museum focuses on displaying Taiyuan's history, revealing Jinyang's cultural connotation, showing Taiyuan's historical context, and highlighting "Jinyang's Rise" and "Towards the Prosperous Tang Dynasty". The main building consists of five relatively independent and interrelated oval inverted cone blocks, and the exterior walls of the building are mainly China red and bronze.
