Tree pruning before planting

Before planting, the root system of seedlings should be trimmed, the cracked roots, diseased roots and excessively long roots should be cut off, and the crown of trees should be trimmed;

A) Trees: tall deciduous trees with obvious trunks should keep their original tree shapes and be properly thinned, and the reserved main branches should be cut short on strong buds; For trees with trunk diameter above 10cm, the original tree shape can be maintained by thinning; For evergreen trees with dense branches, the branches can be thinned appropriately, and evergreen conifers should not be pruned. Prune only the branches of diseases and insect pests, dead branches, weak branches and over-dense branches, and trim less the crown of your tree species;

B) Pruning of shrubs and vines: Bare-rooted seedlings with soil balls or soil in wet areas and flowering shrubs with differentiated flower buds in the previous year should not be pruned. When dead branches and diseases and insect pests occur, they should be cut off, and large shrubs with dense branches can be appropriately thinned. For grafted shrubs, the sprouting branches of the rootstock below the incision should be cut off. Shrubbery with obvious branches and new branches with flower buds should be pruned vigorously according to the tree potential to promote the growth of new branches; Trees and shrubs used as hedges can be pruned according to design requirements after planting; Climbing and creeping seedlings can cut off long parts and side branches;

C) The incision should be smooth and not split;

D) When the branches are cut short, the outer buds should be left, and the cut should be above the bud position1cm;

E) When pruning large branches and thick branches with a diameter of more than 2cm, the incision must be flattened and coated with preservatives;

Seedling planting in 5.3.3.2

A) Before planting, check whether the specifications of the tree pit meet the requirements, and backfill some planting soil for pit treatment after it is qualified.

B) During planting, the seedlings are righted and packed in layers. When filling the soil, pull up a tree to make it sparse, and then continue to fill the soil to meet the requirements. According to the growth habit, shallow-rooted trees are planted shallowly and deep-rooted trees are planted deeply;

C) When planting trees with soil balls, packages unsuitable for decay must be removed;

Water and support after planting in 5.3.3.3.

A) After planting, plant around the hole slightly larger than the diameter of the planting hole, and build an irrigation weir with a height of 10- 15cm. The weir should be built watertight. Water the newly planted trees for the first time on the same day, at least three times after planting, twice after 3-4 days, and the third time on the tenth day. The cohesive soil should be watered less, the root system is underdeveloped, and the watering amount should be appropriate.

B) When planting trees with DBH above 5cm, the pillars should be fixed, the supporting height should be above 1.5m, and the trunk should be kept upright after being tied. After climbing plants are planted, they should be bound or pulled according to the design requirements and growth needs.

5.4 Tree Transplantation Project

5.4. 1 transplant time. It is best to choose the dormant period of trees, before germination in spring and after deciduous trees in autumn as the best time. In the urban reconstruction and expansion project, big trees can be transplanted in the peak season (summer), preferably in cloudy days or before and after rainfall.

5.4.2 Transplanted wood digging seedlings. Generally, the excavated transplanted wood is about 1.20cm away from the root center, and it is dug vertically downward along the outer ring specified by the root width. In the process of excavation, when encountering thick roots, use a hand saw to cut them off to avoid root splitting. When the lateral roots are all cut off, push down the tree and cut off the main roots, so as not to damage the root bark and fibrous roots as much as possible and maintain the original soil. Finally, it is wrapped with wet straw bags and straw ropes for transportation.

5.4.3 Pruning of transplanted wood. Pruning is mainly to reduce the evaporation of water from trees and facilitate transportation and planting. If there are any side branches that affect transportation, they can be cut short appropriately. In principle, conifers are not pruned, and broadleaf trees can be pruned appropriately.

5.4.4 Transplanted wood planting. When planting, the trees should be kept upright and oriented correctly (for example, the seedling period of trees with misplaced directions is extended by about 7 days, and the survival rate is reduced by about 20%). The transplanted trees should be buried in layers and supported to prevent the roots from shaking and breathing, which will affect the survival.

5.4.5 Water the trees immediately after transplanting, keep the soil moist, strengthen management and protection, and pay attention to the occurrence of pests and diseases.

5.4.6 Water for shading. In peak season, the temperature is high and the transpiration is large. Transplanted trees should be watered frequently and their roots irrigated, except when they are planted. Strengthen management and protection. After transplanting, set up supports and fences to prevent pests and diseases, cut off redundant sprouting strips, and irrigate, fertilize, weed and loosen the soil in time.

5.5 Maintenance works

6.3 Construction process control

The "three inspection systems", namely self-inspection, mutual inspection and handover inspection, should be strictly implemented in engineering construction.
