Nanjing was liberated on () in ().

1April 23, 949

On the question of Nanjing Liberation Day, a researcher of Party history answered that it was April 23rd. 1949. But a few days ago, the Chiang Kai-shek desk calendar in the lower right corner of the oil painting exhibition "The Fall of the Chiang Family Dynasty" in the Provincial Art Museum was "22nd". This incident attracted the attention of the reader Master Wang, who wrote an interview with an old man who had experienced this historical fact in those days and put forward another view. It is hereby announced as follows:

In this regard, I asked Song Yulin, the curator, and learned that when the painter created this painting, Chiang Kai-shek fled Nanjing on April 22nd as the background.

The statement "April 22nd" reminds me of my statement that Nanjing was liberated on1April 24th, 993. At that time, I received my uncle who came from Taiwan Province Province to visit relatives in Ning. I want to say that Uncle Biao, who is nearly 80 years old, believes that Nanjing was actually liberated on April 24 according to his personal experience. His words are very convincing, and his experience is authoritative and dramatic. I really believed him at that time. It was not until 1999 that all parts of China began to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). I carefully followed up some memoirs published one after another, and finally found that Bibo's "4 24" theory was ultimately wrong.

According to Biao Bo, 1949, at about 7: 00 a.m. on April 23, as the colonel of Nanjing Lion Mountain Fort, he suddenly received a phone call from the Ministry of National Defense, ordering them to immediately withdraw their troops and flee south. Uncle Biao asked if he had always said that he would stick to the fort and block the Pukou River to prevent the PLA from crossing the river. Why does he suddenly say he wants to quit now? People in the "Ministry of Defense" told him on the phone that Lin Zun led the Yangtze River Fleet to mutiny and could not keep it. Bibo said he didn't know until after the fact. In fact, as early as April 2 1 day, the PLA had already crossed the river from Jiangyin and Jiujiang, and there was no PLA crossing the river on Pukou River in front of Nanjing.

At about 9 am that day, Biao Bo led a team to ride through Yi Jiangmen. 10, he exchanged gold ingots for some gold bars at the entrance of Xinjiekou central bank. /kloc-about 0/2, he unloaded the gun and buried it near Tangshan, and blew it up. This quickly fled to Hangzhou. As for the story of how they escaped after being captured by the People's Liberation Army in Yixing, how they met an old subordinate in Hangzhou, lived with them in the city for several months, and then went back to Nanjing to hide for nearly half a year. Finally, at 195 1, five married people with children fled from Chongming Island to Taiwan Province by boat. The story is thrilling and lifelike. I listened to it with a grain of salt and laughed it off.

It was after "April 23rd" that the fate of Uncle Biao's life was completely changed. The life of him and his family went from being rich and carefree before "April 23rd" to being in exile for several years after "April 23rd". When they arrived in Taiwan Province Province, they could not gain the trust of the Kuomintang. The couple brought water to support their families by pulling a car without rubber tires until 198.

According to historical records and veterans' memories, the People's Liberation Army crossed the river from Pukou to the city on the night of April 23rd, 0949 1 1, and entered the KMT presidential palace in the early morning of 24th. On Chiang Kai-shek's desk calendar, the soldiers found that the desk calendar had been turned to April 23. According to the fact that the People's Liberation Army entered the city on the night of April 23rd 1 1, the desk calendar on Chiang Kai-shek's desk was turned to April 23rd, and Nanjing Liberation Day was set as April 23rd 1949. This is objective and true in all aspects.

Because my uncle was still in Nanjing on April 23, he decided that Nanjing Liberation Day was "April 24", which was obviously one-sided. On the other hand, at 7: 00 a.m. on April 23rd, my uncle received a phone call from the Ministry of National Defense and ordered him to retreat, which proved that there were still people working in the Presidential Palace and the Chiang family dynasty on April 23rd. From this, it can be inferred that it is very likely that the staff including the "Presidential Office" received the evacuation order after going to work on the morning of April 23rd. Therefore, it is normal for the service staff of the "Presidential Office" to fetch water, sweep the floor and turn over the desk calendar as usual after work on the morning of April 23rd.

My cousin died in Taiwan Province Province before he lived to the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China in 1999. I regret that I failed to tell him before his death that the mainland designated Nanjing Liberation Day as "April 23rd". But what is certain is that Uncle Biao will be convinced if he has the opportunity to hear the above-mentioned basis for the liberation of Nanjing.

The Central Committee congratulated Nanjing on its liberation.

(1949 May 1)

The second, third and second largest field armies of the People's Liberation Army carried out the orders of the PLA headquarters, courageously advanced and crossed the Yangtze River. The enemy was invincible, Nanjing was quickly liberated, and the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang was declared dead. Millions of people south of the Yangtze River will soon see the light of day again, and the whole country will rejoice and the whole world will be encouraged. This is the result of our front-line soldiers being brave and good at fighting, the military and civilians in the rear trying to support us, the people in the south of the Yangtze River rising to help us, and the concerted efforts of Qi Xin, a local army in other battlefields. On this great festival, the Central Committee of the Producers of China * * * extends warm congratulations to you. It has been 22 years since the Kuomintang reactionaries headed by Chiang Kai-shek colluded with imperialism abroad, rectified all domestic dark forces and established bloody rule against the nation and the people with Nanjing as the center. The people of the whole country were heartbroken and rebelled. Kuomintang reactionaries are full of evil. They not only launched a counter-revolutionary civil war in the first place, but also rejected the peace agreement in the second place, thinking that the Yangtze River Graben could limit the advance of the PLA. Unexpectedly, three days after the People's Liberation Army crossed the river, the Nanjing counter-revolutionary center was destroyed, and famous cities such as Anqing, Wuhu, Zhenjiang, Wuxi and Suzhou were restored one after another. One for each of the fourth, twentieth, twenty-eighth, forty-fifth, fifty-first, sixty-sixth, eighty-eighth, ninety-ninth, twenty-first, forty-sixth, fifty-fourth and ninety-sixth armies of the Kuomintang army. Now the whole situation is extremely beneficial to the people and the People's Liberation Army. I still hope that the front-line fighters will continue to attack, the people in the rear will work hard to produce, and compatriots from all walks of life will work together to eliminate the remnants of counter-revolution, liberate the people of the whole country, and build a unified and democratic new China.
