In 2007, the domestic PVA consumption was 565,438+200,000 t, and the average annual growth rate from 2000 to 2007 reached 7.2%. In 2008, affected by the global financial crisis, the downstream construction and textile industries of PVA suffered serious setbacks, and domestic PVA consumption decreased by 4.5% year-on-year. In the second half of 2009, the downstream market of PVA improved, and domestic PVA consumption increased by 2.7% year-on-year. In the next few years, the domestic demand for PVA will grow at a relatively stable rate. Tiantuo Consulting predicts that the consumption in 20 15 will reach 728,000 t, and the average annual growth rate in 2009/2015 will be 6.4%.
PVA consumption in China is mainly distributed in East China (28%), South China (28%), North China (including Northeast China, Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shaanxi and Gansu, accounting for 29%), Southwest China (including Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and Hubei, accounting for 5%) and Sichuan and Chongqing (accounting for 65,438).
Consumption composition and forecast
(1) building glue. The application of PVA in this industry mainly includes putty glue and coating glue substrate, accounting for more than 40% of the total, and it is the first real application field. The industry mainly uses PVA 17-99 and PVA20-99 with medium viscosity, and PVA24-99 and PVA26-99 with high viscosity. Its development trend is high viscosity. High-viscosity products have been widely used in coastal developed areas such as East China and South China, and are the main varieties needed by the construction adhesive industry in the future.
(2) the size of textiles. PVA is mainly used for sizing pure polyester or polyester cotton yarn, which has good adhesion and film-forming property. But for high count pure cotton yarn, it is necessary to mix a part of PVA and acrylic acid size. The main varieties used in this industry are PVA 17-99 and PVA05-88. The market is mainly concentrated in East China, Shandong, Hubei, Sichuan, Chongqing and other places.
There is no cheap adhesive for sizing polyester cotton yarn with better performance than PVA in the world. China is a big textile country, and its polyester production ranks first in the world. The sizing field of pure polyester or polyester cotton is an important consumption market of PVA, but foreign environmental trade barriers restrict or even prohibit PVA as sizing, and modified starch replaces part of PVA consumption. Therefore, the application ratio of PVA in this industry has dropped from 35% at the peak to about 2 1%. It is predicted that the application proportion of PVA in textile industry will continue to decrease in the future, and it will drop to about 65,438+07% in 2065,438+05.
(3) adhesive. In addition to building glue, PVA can also be combined with other chemical raw materials to make adhesives for various purposes, or used as protective colloid to produce white latex, which is mainly used in paper, wood, textiles, office glue and high-grade paint base materials. In 2009, the PVA consumption in this field accounted for about 1 1% of the total consumption.
In addition to the low technical content of white latex, various high-end adhesives have high technical content and high added value of products. Users are mainly well-known foreign-funded enterprises such as National Starch, Henkel and Wacker. The PVA needed is mainly some alcoholysis products, such as PVA 17-88, PVA24-88, etc. Users in this field are mainly concentrated in East China and South China, especially in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong.
(4) fiber. Vinylon fiber is a synthetic fiber made of polyvinyl alcohol. The varieties are vinylon short fiber, vinylon long fiber, high strength and high modulus, medium strength and medium modulus, water-soluble fiber and so on. Among them, high-strength and high-modulus fibers have high strength and modulus, strong fiber tension and good comprehensive properties, and are widely used in industries that need high-strength industrial silk, such as building materials, rubber products, coated cloth and plastic hoses, especially in the fields of cement and building materials. High strength and high modulus vinylon fiber is recognized as the most ideal "green" high-tech material to replace asbestos as skeleton material. The demand for high strength and high modulus fibers in foreign markets has increased, and they have been widely used in the European Union, the United States, Japan, Southeast Asia and other places. Some enterprises in China have been able to produce high strength and high modulus fibers, which have been exported to a certain extent, and their applications in construction and other aspects have attracted attention. With the increasing demand for high strength and high modulus vinylon fiber at home and abroad, the demand for PVA in domestic fiber industry will further increase.
(5) polyvinyl butyral (PVB). PVB film is mainly used as glass interlayer. PVB laminated glass has excellent properties such as safety, heat preservation, noise control and ultraviolet isolation, and is widely used in building safety glass. High-end PVB film is used for automobile windshield, bulletproof glass of aircraft, tanks and ships. In the military industry, it can also be used for solar cells and solar receivers.
The main producers of PVB abroad are DuPont and Shounuo. Due to backward technology, the development of PVB in China is slow, and the PVB film for laminated glass mainly depends on imports. The total domestic production capacity of PVB resin is about 25,000 t/a, and the annual output is about 6,543,8+500,000 t.
Because the aging resistance time of PVB film (50 years) is more than twice that of EVA film (20 years), PVB film has replaced EVA film in solar photovoltaic cell packaging glass film abroad. In China, although the price of PVB film is higher than that of EVA film, due to its excellent aging resistance and the increasing support of the state for the solar energy industry, the downstream photovoltaic cell packaging glass has great consumption potential for PVB film.
In the next few years, with the rapid development of photovoltaic cells, automobiles and real estate industries, the demand for PVB resin in the domestic market will increase explosively, which will lead to a substantial increase in PVA consumption in the PVB industry.
(6) papermaking. PVA has strong adhesion to cellulose, good film-forming property and high film strength. PVA is mainly used as paper surface sizing agent, pigment adhesive and additive of beating machine in paper industry, which can improve the wear resistance, folding resistance and tear resistance of paper, and improve gloss, smoothness and printing adaptability. In China, PVA is not only used as a surface sizing agent for middle and low-grade paper, but also imported PVA is used for middle and high-grade paper such as inkjet paper, thermal paper and carbonless copy paper. Imported products are mainly PVA-205(0588), PVA-203(0388), PVA-117 (17-99), PVA- 105 and BF-05 from Japanese companies and Changchun, Taiwan Province, China.
(7) biodegradable polyvinyl alcohol film. Water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film is a new type of plastic product in the world. It can be completely degraded into CO2 and H2O by using the film-forming property, water and biodegradation characteristics of PVA. It is a veritable green high-tech environmental protection packaging material. In Europe, America and Japan, water-soluble PVA films have been widely used in the packaging of various products. In China, the development of water-soluble PVA film is still in its infancy, and the real start of industrial research and development is in the last five years. Mainly used for embroidery and water transfer printing (color printing of glass, ceramics, electrical appliances, etc.). ), the annual consumption of PVA in this respect is about 10000t.
China is a big consumer of plastics. In the total annual consumption of nearly 10 million tons of various plastic films, if PVA film replaces 5%, the annual demand will reach several hundred thousand tons. With China's gradual integration with the international community, the requirements for packaging environmental protection are increasing day by day, which provides strong support for the promotion and development of water-soluble PVA packaging film, and its potential market is also quite large.
