In earlier years, some media reported the shocking "secret" that "the emperor shunzhi died in Xiamen under the artillery fire of Zheng Chenggong's army" according to the relevant contents in the Record of King Yanping's Uprising, which was first reported exclusively by Southeast Morning Post.
There are some other sayings.
The first was the death of my ancestors in the eighteenth year of Shunzhi. The specific reason is that Fu Lin suffered a great mental shock because of the death of his beloved son and concubine, and his health went from bad to worse, and later he died of smallpox. The first statement is supported by the documents of China No.1 Historical Archives. According to historical records, Fu Lin wanted to become a monk, but he was strongly opposed by the conservative forces in the palace, and finally failed to do so. He soon died of smallpox. He is also the only emperor in history of qing dynasty who openly converted to Zen.
The second one is widely circulated among the people and is often used in novels and operas, saying that Shunzhi became a monk and lived in seclusion because of the death of his beloved Princess Dong 'e. This statement generally mistook Dong Fei and Dong Xiaowan for the same person. According to the research of historians, this statement has been basically denied. He Lingxiu, an expert in the history of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, said: "The memorial ceremony of Shunzhi is gloomy and horrible, which shows that the cause of death is complicated."
In addition, in 2004, an ancient manuscript published in Xiamen, Wang Uprising in Yanping County, recorded that Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong when he was in Xiamen. However, there is no other evidence to support this statement, which is just unofficial history's statement.
1663 was buried in Xiaoling Mausoleum, Qingdong Mausoleum, Zunhua, Hebei. There are 8 sons and 6 daughters.
After sai-jo abdicated, Michelle Ye, the third son in the eighteenth year of Shunzhi, succeeded to the throne, and was known as Emperor Kangxi in history.
