-Interview with J.K. Rowling

Joanna Catherine Rowling, a British female writer born in 1965, has published a series of children's novels featuring the boy Harry Potter in recent two years, and has entered the global bestseller list for many times, becoming the most prestigious children's writer in the world. From 65438 to 0988, Rowling was selected as the best writer of the year by Bookseller magazine. 1999, and was awarded the British Book of the Year Award. The following is a comprehensive compilation of interviews with her by British and American media.

Q: How did you come up with the idea of writing about Harry Potter?

A: Once in England, I went from Manchester to King's Cross subway station in London. The train was late and the journey was long. Harry's idea suddenly occurred to me. The main idea at that time was that a boy didn't know he was a wizard and later entered a wizard school. (In the first film, Harry Potter died in a car accident because of his parents. He was fostered in his uncle's house and was abused. On his 1 1 birthday, he learned that he had the potential to become a wizard and entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry under the guidance of mysterious figures. )

Q: How long did it take you to write the first Harry Potter?

A: Five years, although I am also planning to write the last six books. Five books on Harry Potter have been published, namely Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (the American version was renamed Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was listed in Britain and America at the same time on July 8th, and it became popular all over the world because of its best selling. Before the book was published, fans all over the world had already booked 400,000 copies online from Amazon Bookstore. 〕

Q: What must you do to make readers not feel confused when reading the new Harry Potter?

A: It's really becoming more and more challenging for new readers to know the progress of each new book. Taking the secret room as an example, the development of the situation is relatively simple; I try to introduce Harry and his first year at Hogwarts in a natural way. However, when I write the fifth and sixth books, it will be more difficult. I probably just wrote a preface: "In the front, Harry Potter ...", telling readers to look back at book 1-4! Rowling's first three books were all completed and published within one year, which enabled readers, especially young readers, to keep reading with undiminished interest, thus determining the success of her series of novels. But the general series of novels, writing span as many as several years or even more than ten years. Interlocking stories also attract readers. For example, the first episode tells whether Harry can find the philosopher's stone and stop the evil Voldemort from being born again. In the second part, who turned Hogwarts students into fossils? What's in the secret room? )

Q: Are you going to write Harry's story in more than one book? If so, how much will it be written?

A: I plan to write seven books in this series, because I think it takes seven years to train a wizard from 1 1 to 17. Each book is about Harry's year at Hogwarts.

Q: Can you tell us something about the future Harry Potter works?

A: Some of the seven books are about the struggle between good and evil. I'm afraid there will be casualties in the future Every time I say this, the children beg me not to let Ron die; They seem to think that he is the most vulnerable, perhaps because he is the hero's best friend.

Q: What do you think makes so many people like Harry Potter?

A: In this respect, my works are difficult to explain, because I really write only for myself; This book is full of my sense of humor. I don't think children will find it interesting. I think this is part of the attraction to adults. In other words, I think I have a clear memory of Harry's age. The children seem to agree with Harry and his friends very much.

Q: Did you ever think that Harry Potter would be so successful?

A: If I foresee what Harry Potter has caused, I will go crazy. For me, the most exciting moment is to find out that Harry is going to be published in the fierce competition. My lifelong wish is to see a book I wrote put into the bookstore. Everything that happened after that was wonderful, but only by saying that I am a published writer can I realize my dream that I started at an early age.

Q: Are you surprised that Harry Potter not only touched the hearts of children, but also attracted many adults?

A: I don't have the idea of writing for a specific reader in my mind. What excites me is the enjoyment I got when I wrote Harry. I never thought about writing books for children-children's books chose me. I think if it is a good book, anyone will read it.
