Article 46 A prison shall conduct psychological tests on prisoners during the period of in-prison education, the middle of serving a sentence and the period of out-of-prison education, establish psychological files, provide reference for carrying out targeted ideological education and psychological correction, and predict the tendency of recidivism.
Article 47 A prison shall be equipped with specialized personnel to provide psychological counseling services for prisoners and answer their psychological problems.
Article 48 A prison shall treat criminals suffering from mental illness; In case of serious illness, relevant professionals should be organized for consultation and special treatment.
Article 49 Personnel engaged in psychological testing and counseling in prisons shall meet the following conditions:
(1) Obtaining national professional qualification certificates such as psychological counselors, psychological counselors and senior psychological counselors;
(2) Have a strong sense of professionalism and a high sense of responsibility;
(3) Having good conduct and professional ethics.
Prisons can employ social professionals to participate in the psychological correction of criminals.
