Before consultation, the counselor will tell the visitors the principle of confidentiality and the principle of confidentiality exception. In most cases, the principle of confidentiality runs through all the processes of consultation and completion. However, there are several situations that need not be kept secret:
1, the visitor has committed illegal and criminal acts. In this case, it is unnecessary for the psychological counselor to have any sympathy for a criminal, because no matter what kind of psychological confusion, obeying the law and safeguarding human nature are the psychological bottom line. Even if you abide by the law, no matter who knows the illegal behavior of others, it is an act of encouraging and shielding criminals. This is not only a professional ethics, but also a civic obligation. Moreover, in the process of cooperating with the police investigation, it is impossible to keep the information of visitors confidential, which is a means for the police to serve as auxiliary evidence, and consultants should cooperate closely.
2. When the visitor commits suicide or self-mutilation, the consultant will provide the visitor information to a certain extent when discussing with other parts or superiors, but it may stay at a low level of publicity, which is not only the responsibility of the visitor itself, but also the responsibility of the family members.
3. Visitors need to be transferred. If the current counselor thinks that their relationship is no longer suitable for continuation, they may need to transfer to other counselors. At this point, the consultant should also provide complete information.
4. When the visitor may have some factors that will hurt others, such as infectious diseases or others, the consultant can also break the confidentiality principle.
5. After the psychological counselor is injured, some evidence needs to be used as the psychological counselor's own evidence of rights protection, which can also be broken.
