Bamboo slips unearthed from the Western Han Tomb at No.40 Bajiaolang, Dingxian County, Hebei Province, China. 1973 was excavated by Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Management Office and Dingxian Museum, and is now in Hebei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics. The tomb was stolen and burned in the early years, and the bamboo slips were carbonized and badly damaged, which was difficult to identify. After preliminary sorting out, there are some ancient books, such as The Analects of Confucius, Confucian Words, Sorrow for the Public and Five Meanings, Biography of Fu Bao Taigong Wen Zi, Living with Five Phoenix in the Second Year of Lu 'an, and Japanese Books.

The simplified version of The Analects of Confucius is about half of the handwritten version, and the simplified version of some articles can reach 6% or 70% of the handwritten version. There are differences between Zhang and the handed down version, which is the earliest ancient version seen at present. There are 27 chapters in The Scholars, among which 23 chapters such as Zi Gong Wen Ren Xia are found in ancient books such as Xunzi, Shuoyuan and Xin Xu in the pre-Qin and Western Han Dynasties. The contents of the abridged versions of Mourning the Public and Asking the Five Meanings and Biography of Fu Bao are found in Biography of Dai Li, but the abridged versions are different in form, so they are divided into two parts. A total of 13 topics were found in The Simplified Edition of Taigong, which is more extensive than the books about Taigong that can be seen today. Among them, only three articles, such as Managing Chaos, are found in the lost articles of Liu Taozhuan and Shu Qunzhi Yao. Other short articles can be found in Biography of Liu Tao, but there is no title. Wen Zi, a short edition, consists of six chapters, the contents of which are generally consistent with the original edition. The same chapter shows that in this edition, the word "Wen Zi" in all the short articles has been changed to "Laozi", which makes people see the true colors of Wen Zi. The simplified edition "The First Month Residence in the Second Year of Five Phoenix in Lu 'an" records the activities of Liu Ding, the Miao king of Lu 'an in the second year of Five Phoenix in Han Dynasty (56 BC). Among them, the records of place names and miles are precious materials for studying the geography of the Han Dynasty, and the records of tributes are of great value for studying the ritual system of the Han Dynasty. This Japanese book is incomplete and difficult to read through.
