The story begins in the early 1980s-a young widow "Xiao Gu" (Chen Liping), with three children, runs a cooking stall named "Happiness Hotel" in Niucheshui Street. She met a man who looked honest, but in fact he was a robber, Ah Kin (Li Nanxing). On their wedding day, Akin was shot dead by the police while robbing a gold factory. Before he died, he asked Xiao Gu to take care of his son and daughter.
