History of Forestry Society of China

Chinese society of forestry, formerly known as chinese society of forestry, was founded in the spring of 19 17. She is one of the earliest scientific and technological societies in the history of modern scientific and technological societies in China. 1928 was renamed chinese society of forestry, and chinese society of forestry was named after the founding of New China, which has a history of more than 90 years. It has been rated as an advanced society by China Association for Science and Technology for four times, and won many honors such as "National Advanced Science Popularization Collective". China Forestry Society is an academic group with the longest history, the most complete disciplines, the widest expert group, the most perfect organizational system and high reputation and influence at home and abroad.

Founded in 19 17, it was then called China Forest Association, and its chairman was Ling Daoyang. 1928 was renamed China Forestry Society, with Yao Chuanfa as the chairman. On February 26th 195 1, the academic investigation and discussion on "Agricultural Construction and Ecological Balance in Hainan Island" was renamed as "Construction and Ecological Balance in Tropical and Subtropical Mountainous Hills", and then the first chairman was Liang. The 1 1 session of the Council was re-elected in 20 14, with Zhao Shucong as the chairman.

By the end of 2007, China Forestry Society had 34 secondary branches (professional committees), academic, popular science, organization, award, consultation, foreign affairs, continuing education, youth work committees and 10 working committees of forest and human and forestry science editorial board. 3 1 province (autonomous region and municipality) has provincial forestry societies, and many counties have local forestry societies. Now it has more than 90,000 individual members all over the country, covering various disciplines related to forestry. At present, there are 185 directors, including academicians from forestry scientific research, teaching, production and management departments, well-known experts, academic leaders and heads of relevant departments.

Since the end of 1970s, the academic activities organized by the Association mainly include the academic seminar on "Three North Shelterbelt System Construction", the academic investigation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the academic seminar on "Tropical and Subtropical Mountainous Hills Construction and Ecological Balance", which was renamed as 195 1 and the academic investigation and discussion on "Agricultural Construction and Ecological Balance in Hainan Island" on February 26th, with Yao Chuanfa as the chairman. And "Forecasts of Forestry Development and Construction in 2000". In terms of popular science, there are forestry popular science art exhibitions and forestry popular science summer camps, and popular science magazines such as Forest and People are published.
