Zhoukou City is located in the southeast of Henan Province, China, where Shahe, He Ying and Jia Luhe meet. It borders Fuyang City in Anhui Province in the east, Luohe City and Xuchang City in Henan Province in the west, Zhumadian City in the south and Kaifeng City and Shangqiu City in the north.
Zhoukou city has a long history and splendid culture, with a history of civilization of more than 6,000 years. The Fuxi family of Taihao built its capital here, and the Shennong family of Yan Di planted grains, creating the ancient civilization of the Chinese nation. Zhoukou belonged to the State of Chen in ancient times, and The Book of Songs Chen Feng is impressive.
At the end of the Warring States Period, it was the capital of Chu State, which was called Chen Ying in history. The peasant uprising at the end of Qin Dynasty gave birth to the Zhang Chu regime in Chen Jianli. During the Han dynasty, Chen was a place where the princes separated themselves, and it was prosperous and rich. Since Wei and Jin Dynasties, with Huaiyang as the center, counties and prefectures have been set up.
Historical evolution:
In the history of the city, Huaiyang is the center. 1965 After the establishment of Zhoukou Commissioner's Office, it entered Zhoukou Town (now Chuanhui District). Huaiyang, once the political, economic and cultural center, was once the market of Wanqiu and Tai Hao, and is said to be the capital of Shennong.
Xia is the territory of Yuzhou, Yin is the fief, and Li (now East) is the activity center. Zhou Wuwang was one of the top ten vassal states originally sealed by Zhou. The Spring and Autumn Period still belonged to the State of Chen. During the Warring States Period, in 479 BC, Chu destroyed Chen and took Chen as the county. In the first 278 years, Qing Xiang, the king of Chu, moved here, which was called "Chen Ying" and "West Chu" in history.
After the Qin Dynasty unified the whole country, Chen Jun was established. In the second year (209 BC), Chen Sheng and Zaichen were named "Zhang Chu".
Huaiyang County was established in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, and Huaiyang State was established in the eleventh year (BC 196), belonging to the secretariat department of Yuzhou.
