1. The operating procedure of the copier is 1. Preheating Press the power switch to start preheating. There should be an indicator light and a waiting signal on the panel. As soon as the warm-up time arrives, the machine can start copying. At this time, there will be signal duplication or audio signal notification. 2. Check the manuscript. After you get the manuscript that needs to be copied, you should read it briefly. You should pay attention to the following aspects: the paper size, texture and color of the manuscript, the color of the handwriting on the manuscript, the binding method of the manuscript, the number of manuscripts, and the presence or absence of pictures. These factors are all related to the replication process, and we must be aware of them. Unclear handwriting and unclear lines on the manuscript should be clearly described before copying to avoid rework after copying. The manuscript that can be disassembled should be disassembled to avoid unevenness and shadows when copying. 3. Check the machine display. After the machine is warmed up, check whether the display on the operation panel is normal. It mainly includes the following items: copy signal display, carton position display, copy quantity display as "L", copy density adjustment display, paper size display, and all the displays are normal before copying. 4. Place the original according to the description of the glass scale plate of the document table and the size and horizontal direction of the currently used carton. It should be noted that when copying the originals in sequence, you should start from the last page, so that the copied products are in the correct order, otherwise you need to rewind them again. 5. Set the number of copies Press the number keys to set the number of copies. If the setting is wrong, press the "c" key and then reset. 6. Set the copy magnification. Generally, photocopiers have only one magnification. Just press the zoom button. The reduction ratio is mostly expressed as A3-A4, B4-B5 or percentage. Knowing the size of copy paper, you can easily choose the reduction ratio. Don't press any keys if you don't need to zoom in or out. 7. Select the copy paper size. Enlarge or reduce the magnification according to the original size. Press the tray selection key. If there are cartons of the required size in the machine, they can be displayed on the panel; If it is not displayed, the paper tray needs to be replaced. 8. Adjust the copy density. Adjust the copy density according to the tone depth of the original paper and handwriting. If the original paper is dark, such as a newspaper, the copy density should be lighter, and if the handwriting is light and thin, it is not very clear. If the manuscript is a pencil manuscript, the density is deeper. When copying pictures, the density is generally adjusted. Second, the handling of common problems in the process of copying Press the copy start button and the machine will start running. After a few seconds, the paper will enter the machine, and through the processes of charging, exposure, development, transfer printing and fixing, the copy can be copied. Some problems are often encountered in the copying process, such as paper jam, insufficient toner and too much waste powder. , must be handled in time, otherwise the replication cannot continue. Paper jam is inevitable in the process of copying, but if it is often jammed, it means that the machine is out of order and needs maintenance. Here we only talk about eliminating occasional paper jams. After the paper jam, the paper jam signal on the panel lights up. At this time, it is necessary to open the machine door or the left (fuser) and right (paper feed part) panels to take out the paper jam. Some high-end machines can display the number of paper jams, expressed by "PL, P 2" and so on. "P O" means that there is no paper jam in the main machine, but there is a paper jam in the sorter. After removing the jammed paper, check whether the paper is complete. If it is not complete, find the shredded paper caught in the machine. When the sorter is jammed, it is necessary to move the sorter away from the main machine, press the paper inlet of the sorter and take out the jammed paper. 1. When the paper runs out, a signal that the paper tray is empty will appear on the panel, and copy paper will be loaded. You can keep copying. 2. Toner shortage. Toner shortage signal light is on, indicating that the toner in the machine is almost used up, which will affect the copy quality. It is necessary to supplement it in time. When this signal appears, some models stop running, and some models can still continue copying. Before adding toner, shake the toner bottle or cartridge several times to crush the caked ink into powder. 3. Too much waste powder The waste toner removed from the photosensitive drum is collected in a waste powder bottle. When it is full, a signal will be displayed on the panel. Some machines use the same signal as toner shortage, so pay more attention to inspection. When the waste powder is full, it should be dumped in time. Some models require that the waste powder cannot be reused, especially the one-component development machine, otherwise the development quality will be affected. Iii. Use of copier 1 special functions. Using the automatic document feeder can improve the copying efficiency and avoid the trouble of opening the document table cover every time the document is released. When in use, first press the automatic feed button, the indicator light will be on, and the original will be placed on the feed table. The automatic document feeder loads documents page by page. After the original is put away, the machine will automatically start copying. Another function of the automatic document feeder is to make the machine automatically start copying after preheating. The method is to set up various items in the preheating process, such as carton selection, density adjustment, enlargement or reduction, and then put the original on the paper feed table according to the above requirements, and the machine will automatically start copying as soon as it is preheated. It should be noted that curled, wrinkled, folded originals, originals with staples, paper clips, tape or paste that are not dry, originals with black back, originals stuck together or bound together, and originals that have passed books cannot be automatically fed. However, with some special copying skills, you can still send a thin or not very flat manuscript automatically. The method is to open the left manuscript rotating box and make semi-automatic manuscript feeding and copying, that is, the right hand feeds the manuscript and the left hand receives the printed manuscript, so that the manuscript will hardly get stuck. When the original is stuck, open the rotating cover and gently pull it out. Generally, it is easier to take it out from the side in contact with the glass. If it is difficult to take out, please remove the platen where the original is placed and take out the original. After the manuscript is taken out, if the jam signal light is still on, it is generally that the manuscript has been placed on the manuscript feeding table, and the signal can be eliminated by pulling the manuscript on this page. Due to the appearance of the paper jam signal, the original page after the paper jam cannot be copied, so it needs to be taken out and put on the paper feed table again for copying. When using the semi-automatic document feeder to copy double-sided documents without overprinting, it is necessary to print one side of each document with a large page number first, and then put it on the document feeder to copy the other side when it arrives at the document table from the machine. For example, print page 1 first, and then print page 3. At this time, you cannot use the automatic document feed function. 2. Use of automatic pagination machine When pagination is performed by automatic pagination machine, copying must be started from the last page of the original. The general classifier is 15, and the copy can be divided into 15. If it exceeds 15, you need to copy 15 first, and then continue to copy the remaining copies. When using the automatic sorter, the paper contained in the paper box should be convex upward, so as to avoid the phenomenon of wrong insertion when the copied products enter the paging grid (that is, the printed pages are inserted between the members who copied first, confusing the order). Each page can hold about 30 copies, and it is easy to jam if it exceeds. Therefore, when there are too many copies, you should take them out during the copying process and put them away separately. After all copies are made, the two parts should be stacked and bound together. When the automatic document feeder and sorter are used at the same time, attention should be paid to prevent the copy from being defective due to the skew of the original document, so that the residual products are difficult to find in the copy. Therefore, always pay attention to the top copy in the sorter when copying. As long as this page is intact, the copies of the following layers should be good. When the automatic (semi-automatic) document feeder and the automatic sorter are used at the same time, if the original size is uneven and the number of copies is more than the number of pages, the remaining pages of the sorter can be printed first. If 20 copies are needed, but the sorter can only divide 15 copies, then print 5 copies first. When copying these five copies, you can enlarge or reduce the originals of different sizes and unify them on a copy paper of one size. Take one copy for the second time as the original of the remaining 15 copies. At this time, an automatic (semi-automatic) document feeder can be used, and only the original document needs to be copied. However, the size of the original copy for the first time is different, and it is troublesome to enlarge and reduce it, so it is impossible to copy it quickly with the document feeder. When making multiple copies of multi-page originals with different tones, you can also make multiple copies of the remaining copies in a unified manner, and then use this copy as the original, thus avoiding the trouble of repeatedly adjusting the development density. When using the automatic sorter, you should also pay attention to selecting copy paper with good smoothness and appropriate size, and fully shake off and knock the paper in the carton before copying. Otherwise, once two sheets of paper are stuck together due to electrostatic attraction, there will be copy defects or paper jams, resulting in paging errors. 3. Selection of large-capacity paper supply boxes Some high-speed copiers can choose paper supply boxes with a capacity of 1500-2000 sheets. This paper box is attached to the right side of the machine, and the paper is fed from the lower paper supply box. Cartons need a separate power supply. Before use, you need to set the selector knob to meet the requirements of different paper sizes. Turn on the power switch and the indicator light will light up. When there is no paper, the indicator light will flash. When it is necessary to change the size of copy paper, you can pull out the paper box to the right, open the paper box cover and the upper cover to loosen the plastic knob, lift the partition, adjust the selector knob to the digital position of the selected paper size, and finally close the paper box cover and push the paper box to the main machine. If the indicator light still flashes after adding paper, it means that the copy paper is not put away properly or the carton is not closed tightly, so you can't copy at this time.
4. The use of automatic copying function Some copiers can automatically start copying after preheating the original document in the paper feed tray. Some machines also have this function on the automatic feed board. When preheating, put a copy paper on the paper feeding board, and copy it automatically after preheating. Some machines have a "stand by" button and indicator light on the board during operation. Press this button when the machine is warmed up, and the indicator light will be on. When there is paper in the paper box, preheating is completed. 5. Use of Insert Copy Key and Stop Key Most copiers have these two keys, but not many users can use them correctly. Insert copy key, also known as pause key, is used to interrupt multiple documents being copied and temporarily add more urgent documents. Press this key in the process of copying, the machine will immediately stop copying, and the copy quantity display will change to "L". You can copy urgent documents by resetting the copy values. After copying, the machine will return to the original display state when it was interrupted, and the original multiple copies can continue. If you press the Insert Copy key by mistake, just press the Stop key to restore the copy quantity before the interruption. The stop key is mainly used to reach the required number of copies or to find that the original is not placed properly. After pressing this key, the machine stops running, and the number of copies returns to "1", which needs to be reset when copying again. Some minicomputers set the stop key and the copy clearing key as one key, and their functions are the same. 4. Copying skills Copying is a highly technical job. Skilled skills can not only improve work efficiency, but also save paper, reduce waste and ensure the normal operation of the machine. Here are some copying skills that you should master. 1. In the process of copying with proper exposure, you will encounter different shades of manuscripts, some of which are mixed with different shades of handwriting, such as ballpoint pens and pencil instructions on the lead print. In this case, you should reduce the exposure in the case of shallow handwriting to make it appear. The specific method is to increase the development density and adjust the density deeper; For the original standards such as photos and pictures with small contrast and deep tone, the development density should be reduced and adjusted to the shallower side. If the copy quality is still not satisfactory, you can increase the exposure by pulling out the exposure slit plate (some are installed on the charging electrode, and some are separately installed near the photosensitive drum), widening the light slit, or increasing the exposure voltage to fade the image. 2. Duplex copying Some high-end copiers only have the function of automatic duplex copying, but most machines still need to reload the copy into the paper box for duplex copying, and then print the second side. Double-sided copying technology can be used for many purposes, such as advertisements, tapes and other instructions, business cards, forms and documents with too many pages that need to be thinned. This not only saves half of the paper, but also reduces the space occupied by small files, which is easy to bind. Before double-sided overprinting, the copy paper room should be fully ventilated to prevent double sheets. Print odd-numbered pages first, and then put the copy into the paper box according to the type of machine used, and copy the even-numbered side. Some machines need to put the top and bottom ends of the first copy unchanged, with the text facing down, into a carton, and then copy the second side; Others can be packed in cartons intact. The former is linear feed type and the latter is curve feed type, with the inlet and outlet on the same side of the machine. It should also be noted that the original and copy of the machine with optical fiber moment lens protection are also positive, while the original and copy of the machine with lens are negative. Especially when copying small pieces of paper on both sides (not the size of copy paper), it is difficult to operate the machine with lens. When copying the first side, it is best to put the original in the middle of the copy grade size, and when printing the second side, put it in the middle. But both sides may make mistakes. Another method is to put the right end of the upper part of the manuscript table when printing the first side of the manuscript, and the left end of the upper part when printing the second side, while the upper and lower ends of the copy paper are not moved, just put down the paper with handwriting. When multiple pages of double-sided documents are overprinted, double-sided documents may appear, resulting in inaccurate page number overprint. Be sure to check whether the page number on the second side is correct. If it is not correct, stop the machine, look at the number of copies left in the paper box to be overprinted, continue printing, and then fill the wrong page. 3. When copying by shading method, the original document is often defiled, so it is necessary to copy a part of the original document, and the shadow of the original document is removed. Masking technology is needed to remove unnecessary traces. The easiest way is to cover these parts with a piece of white paper and then copy them on the original table. When copying books and other thick manuscripts, shadows are often left on the copies, which can also be removed by blocking. The method is to put a piece of white paper under the page to be printed, which can eliminate the shadow at the edge of the book. If you want to remove the shadow between two pages, you can cover the page that has not been printed for the time being with a piece of white paper, so that its edge is equal to that of the printed page, and that's all. 4. Making a reverse copy In the design and drawing work, it is sometimes necessary to draw exactly the same reverse image according to a certain pattern. It is more convenient to do it with a copier. The practice is; Take a copy paper and a copy paper (transparent tissue paper) larger than the pattern, apply glue on the edge of the tissue paper and stick it together, dry it before copying. When copying, the copy paper needs to face up. Tear it off after printing, put one side of the required reverse pattern (that is, the back when copying) down on the platen glass, and then copy it to get the exact same reverse pattern. You can also use brushed sulfuric acid paper or transparent polyester film instead of copy paper. 5. Making teaching slides Using a copier, you can copy any text and chart on transparent polyester film for teaching projection. The specific method is to put away the manuscript, adjust the development density, and feed the polyester film with a manual paper tray. If the film is easy to stick, you can line it with a copy paper, then enter one end of the machine and stick it with transparent tape. The film that has been transferred and the image is normally stuck in the machine can be sent to the fuser by opening the machine door, and then the paper discharge button of the fuser roller is rotated to make it pass through the fuser and be fixed and discharged. The film damaged by poor transfer toner image can be taken out and wiped with a wet cloth, and can still be used after drying. In addition, you can also use the copier to make business cards and retrieve cards. The operation method is similar to the double-sided copying mentioned above, so it is not necessary to mention it. On the premise of mastering the performance of the copier and not damaging the machine, you can also copy text and images on other materials (such as cloth).
6. The method of deepening the density to avoid soiling. For the original with images on both sides, if the images are clear when copying, the easiest way is to put a piece of black paper on the back of the original to be copied, so as not to expose the images on the back. When there is no black paper, you can open the cover of the copier to copy. The printed black paper is uniform and can be used as backing paper. This method is often used to make various drawings, because the lines on the drawings should be concentrated and the blank parts must be clean. V. Problems needing attention in operation The electrostatic copier is a kind of consumable equipment. With the extension of machine working hours, all parts will be worn, aged and invalid to a certain extent. Therefore, the operator is required to have a general understanding of the principle, performance and structure of the machine, especially how to eliminate some frequent minor faults, otherwise he will not be competent for this job. What needs to be pointed out here is that when there are problems in the copying process, don't rush into it. Only after finding out the reasons can we deal with them. The most common problem is paper jam. Some machines need to open the door (cut off the power supply) to eliminate the paper jam, press the reset button, and then continue copying after closing the door. Some hosts need to warm up for a minute or two after taking out the jammed paper. Usually, as long as the machine has the action of rubbing paper, for some reason, the paper is not rubbed out of the carton and enters the paper path. Due to the time detection of the timing controller, the paper is not in place or fails to pass through several detection sensors on the paper path, which is considered as a paper jam and a paper jam signal appears, and the machine stops running. At this time, it is also necessary to open the door (power off) and repeat the above actions. If this phenomenon occurs repeatedly, users will be impatient, many people will fall down, be beaten, close the door and other heavy action means, which will lead to new failures of the machine, such as door damage, poor contact of the microswitch of the door, damage of other vulnerable parts, which will make the machine unstable, and so on. Therefore, when the machine is not working well, we should carefully check the cause of the failure, replace the worn parts in time, or ask maintenance personnel to carry out maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the machine.
This is a common method and precautions for photocopiers.
