The existing building area of the museum is 28,000 square meters, with trees and beautiful environment. The appearance of the exhibition building is similar to that of the Beijing People's Military Museum in China. It is five stories high and has a five-star spire at the top.
Zhanjiang Museum, inscribed by Dong, is located in the west hill of Moon Shadow Lake in the beautiful Inch Jinqiao Park in Chikan District. 1960 completed and opened for business. The exhibition hall covers an area of 30,000 square meters, and there are 6 exhibition halls in the museum, which are used to hold local history, cultural relics display and temporary special exhibitions. At present, the basic exhibitions are: Zhanjiang people's struggle against France, collection of ancient bronze drums, collection of fine ceramics and so on.
The exhibition of anti-French struggle shows 1898- 1899 the struggle process of Suixi people in Zhanjiang against France and forcibly planning the concession in Guangzhou Bay. The theme is outstanding and the atmosphere is touching. It has long been a place for patriotic education. Through the visit, the students are deeply educated. The ideological and political practice course went out of the school gate and moved the classroom outdoors, which highlighted the distinctive characteristics of combining theory with practice and was well received by students.
There are six exhibition halls, which are equipped with basic exhibitions, local history, cultural relics, natural resources, construction achievements and temporary exhibitions of various works of art, and provide services such as explanations, lectures, reports and guided tours of cultural relics and historic sites. It is one of the important social education bases of primary and secondary schools in Zhanjiang.
