Lanzhou Institute of Resources and Environment is located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. It is a national backbone vocational college, a national high-quality vocational college, a high-level vocational college with China characteristics, and a professional construction plan.
There are 1 1 pilot colleges for directional training of noncommissioned officers, national modern apprenticeship pilot units, "double-first-class" colleges and universities in Gansu Province, and high-quality vocational colleges in Gansu Province, which were founded by Gansu Provincial People's Government, People's Republic of China (PRC) Municipal People's Government and People's Republic of China (PRC) Emergency Management Department.
The school was formerly known as Lanzhou Meteorological School (founded in 195 1) and Gansu Coal Workers College (founded in 1984), which belongs to Gansu Coal Industry Bureau.
In 2004, with the record of the Ministry of Education and the approval of the Gansu provincial government, the two universities merged and rebuilt into Lanzhou Vocational and Technical College of Resources and Environment. In March, 20021,Gansu Water Conservancy and Hydropower School was merged into Lanzhou Vocational and Technical College of Resources and Environment.
