Where is Maxiang Qingju Hall?

Maxiang Qingju Hall, commonly known as Caitang, is located in Maxiang, No.29 Wu Jia Street, Gu Wu. It is the only vegetable restaurant in Xiang 'an area. The main hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni and Guanyin with a thousand hands, and a nun presides over the Buddhist ceremony. It is said that there were twelve nuns in their heyday. On the second and sixteenth day of the second year, the vegetable aunt (Ms. Chang Zhai) and believers in Maxiang area gathered in Qingju Hall to recite scriptures and worship Buddha, which lasted for many years.

The founder of Qingjutang is You Boyi, whose common name is Lin Caihua and whose legal name is Lianguo Valley. He was born in the 11th year of Guangxu (1885) and is a shopkeeper in Neicuo Town. When I was young, I crossed to Penang, Malaysia to run a small vendor. Later, he converted to the local Genzong Temple and worshipped the monk Guangtong as a teacher. In his early years, monk Guangtong became a monk at Wu He Temple in Putuo Mountain, Nanhai, and was a Buddhist monk. During her stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Lian Guogu returned to her hometown, became a monk in Maxiang Street, and was ordained at Mei Feng Temple in Putian. After returning to China, she invested in land and built the Qingju Hall, which was completed in the 1940s. A tile house with civil structure, covering an area of about 250 square meters, was the largest Buddhist temple in Maxiang at that time. 1954, the newly appointed master Hou Xue, presided over by Brahma Temple, was invited to preside over Qingju Temple and became a subordinate courtyard of Brahma Temple. In order to improve the management of the Qingju Temple, the master also hired Zhang Linshe Wang of the village to replace his aunt as an agent to protect the temple, and donated 1 10,000 yuan to repair the Qingju Temple. Lian Guogu passed away on July 7, 1959/KLOC-0, and her ashes were stored in the Haihui Tower of Brahma Temple and the main memorial hall.

The successor is Huimu Valley. Hui, whose common name is Chen, is a native of Neicuo Town and a returned overseas Chinese in Malaysia. She is famous for her good luck in Buddhism. At the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, she went to Sunlight Rock in Gulangyu Island to worship the Qing Dynasty guru as a teacher. In order to protect the temple, she devoted herself to learning Buddhism from Master Shanqi. In A.D. 1945, he was ordained by the Bodhisattva of Nanputuo Temple. The successor of Hou Xue's Master Committee lived in the Qing Dynasty and presided over the daily affairs of the guild hall. Hui died on 1989 at the age of 90.

On his deathbed, Huimugu earnestly hoped that Master Hou Xue would preside over the reconstruction of Qingjutang, hired Xu Shuixin, Wu Dazhan and Huimin Hong as protectors, and set up the preparatory committee for the reconstruction of Qingjutang. In order to realize Gu Huimu's long-cherished wish, Hou Xue actively mobilized donations from the masses. He himself also advocated donating 20,000 yuan and 1 10,000 yuan to Brahma Temple. Tanabe Shelin Building, Lilaiwei Society, Chen Meijin, etc. Everyone gave generously, * * * raised 500,000 yuan, which was rebuilt on the ninth day of April in 200 1 year, and the Dian 'an was completed in February of the same year1year. Master Hou Xue presided over the ceremony, and all districts and towns sent people to attend.

The rebuilt Qingju Hall is a palace pavilion with two floors and three bays, with red walls and green tiles. It is beautifully carved and can be compared with the newly-built "Buertang" (Guanyin Hall), adding another grand scene to Maxiang Street. Now the incense is flourishing, and the sound of wooden fish welcomes good letters at home and abroad.

On the lintel of Qingju Hall, there is a gold plaque inscribed by Master Hou Xue. On the first floor, the central hall is dedicated to Guanyin with thousands of hands, with talented people and jade girls standing on both sides. Guanyin stepped on the lotus, his hands folded, and there were 1080 hands on both sides, with different postures, and each hand carefully drew an eye. Avalokitesvara with a thousand hands is called "Mother-in-law Luo Xi" and the precious name is "Great Mercy and Great Compassion".

Upstairs is the hall of great heroes. The main hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni, flanked by Bodhisattva and Wei Tuo, who are the protectors of riding a lion and sitting like an elephant holding an Excalibur. In front of the temple is Maitreya Buddha and Bodhisattva, welcoming tourists from all corners of the country. The gables on both sides are embedded with 800 floating statues of arhats made of porcelain clay. Now, Qingju Hall has become a holy place for vegetable aunts in Maxiang area to believe in Buddhism and worship Buddha.
