The latest edition of Code for Design of Building Foundations was revised to GB J7-89 by China Institute of Building Research in conjunction with relevant design, survey, construction, scientific research and teaching units. Brief introduction of the latest edition of Code for Design of Building Foundation;

In order to implement the national technical and economic policies in foundation design, achieve safety, applicability, advanced technology, economy and rationality, ensure quality and protect the environment, the latest edition of Code for Design of Building Foundation is formulated. The current version (GB 50007-20 1 1) was revised on the basis of Code for Design of Building Foundations (GB50007—2002) and came into effect on August 20 12. The new code is divided into 10 chapter and 22 appendices. The main technical contents include: general rules, terms and symbols, basic provisions, geotechnical classification of foundation, engineering characteristic index, foundation calculation, mountain foundation, soft foundation, foundation pit engineering, inspection and monitoring.
