Vidas (Bizio Posani) has a keen sense of hearing, and his usual entertainment is reading encyclopedias. He is the apple of his parents' eye. His father Leo (played by urs Zucker) is an inventor, who is working to improve the revolutionary technology of wire toughening in hearing aid design, while English mother Helen (played by Julika Jenkins) is keen to tap her son's talent. Even at such a young age, Vidas can fully understand many things. He worships his eccentric grandfather (Bruno Ganz) and spends most of his time in the old man's studio, listening to his opinions and suggestions and letting his dreams fly.
Vidas is becoming more and more unaccustomed to his uniqueness, and becomes very precocious in the face of real life. With grandpa's help, he put on a pair of wooden wings and jumped off the balcony. At the moment of falling, the boy suddenly had an idea and pretended that his talent had disappeared because of such a fall. While enjoying this "trick", the boy also helped his father save his career, and at the same time he learned more about the true meaning of life.
