What is the current situation of prison psychological counseling? Waiting, thank you.

First, criminals are not enthusiastic about participating. Because some criminals are very closed to their feelings and don't want to be too open about their true feelings, they are unwilling to participate in psychological counseling. They think that participating in psychological counseling will expose their true inner world, and they would rather close their hearts than participate in psychological counseling.

Second, the facilities and places provided by prisons for psychotherapy are not perfect. Psychological correction is different from psychological consultation, and it needs necessary facilities and equipment as auxiliary treatment. Better audio equipment can be used for relaxation therapy of music therapy and behavior therapy. Biofeedback instrument and aversion therapy instrument can adjust the tension and anxiety of criminals and remove or slow down bad behavior habits. A sealed soundproof room can provide a suitable place for criminals to vent, and so on. At present, these facilities and places provided by prisons for psychotherapy are far from complete.

Third, psychological counselors are not professional enough. At present, there is a shortage of psychological counselors all over the country, especially in our prisons. This gap is very large. In addition, our current psychological counselors are basically half-way monks, and their professional level is far from the actual needs, so they can't really carry out psychological correction work.

Fourthly, the socialization of psychological counseling and correction is far from enough. Because the hardware and software conditions of most of our prison psychotherapy are not enough, we have to rely on the power of society to carry out our work. For example, signing cooperation agreements with medical institutions in the society and hiring social psychotherapists or psychiatrists to participate in the psychological treatment of criminals have achieved good results. But at present, the socialization of prison psychotherapy in China is far from enough.

In short, the psychological treatment of criminals has a long way to go. Only by taking the road of professional development and boldly exploring the correction methods and means in line with the actual situation of the prison can it embark on the road of standardization and play its due role in the overall correction of the prison.
