Visit Master Pan, the inheritor of kneading skills.

I went to G's office on Friday. He said he had an appointment to visit Master Pan and asked me if I was interested in going with him.

The first time I met Master Pan was at the salon held by Jiading Museum on March 26th, 2007. At that time, three experts were invited, and Master Pan was one of them. He is the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage in Jiading District. During the activity, the other two experts were talking, but Master Pan seldom spoke, feeling that he was a skillful craftsman who was not good at words.

Further information about him is that at the end of 20 18, there was an article introducing him, which revealed the address and telephone number of his studio. I hope everyone can visit and experience it. At that time, I thought I would have time to visit, but I never put it into practice. I didn't expect the opportunity to come so suddenly.

And G walked into Master Pan's studio. He is painting, and the room is full of his traditional Chinese paintings, including landscapes and flowers and birds. Speaking of his paintings, Master Pan said a lot. He said painting crabs was very rewarding. His paintings won many awards, including the gold medal. He is also a member of many calligraphy and painting associations. After that, he took out his membership card and the photos and certificates of the winning works for us to see.

Master Pan didn't elaborate on kneading dough. He just said that his family composition was not good before and others didn't want to teach him. He had to explore alone. He used to be a carpenter, a plasterer and a brick burner ... he did everything anyway. That's what kneading does, because he likes painting, and his works are both meaningful and vivid, and he soon stands out among his peers. He participated in the restoration and reconstruction projects of ancient buildings such as Huilongtan, Qiuxiapu Park, Guyi Garden and Yuyuan Garden, and his reputation spread far and wide, and he went abroad for exchanges and exhibitions many times.

When there is no work, Master Pan paints at home instead of fiddling with his own paintings. The yard is his workplace. It seems that it hasn't been started for a long time. A squirrel grape is placed on the workbench, and it has not been shaped yet. There are some finished products around, most of which are auspicious patterns, such as the pine crane celebrating the New Year, the plum blossom and phoenix wearing peony, and a garden landscape with a crab in it, which is very similar to his Chinese painting.

When I left, Master Pan said that we could choose any painting on the wall. I like his ink paintings with the theme of mountain villages very much. The first time I reached out, it was embarrassing. I just took a copy of his application for intangible cultural heritage and left. I think I'll go back and learn more about kneading dough before I visit.
