Background of French Academy of Agricultural Sciences
French Academy of Agricultural Sciences was founded in 1946. INRA has been supervised by the French Ministry of Education, Research and Technology and the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries since 1984. It is a French public institution engaged in agricultural science and technology research. Over the years, it has maintained various cooperative relations with universities, engineering colleges and national or private scientific research institutions. The French National Agricultural Research Institute also maintains active cooperation and exchanges with other French national scientific research institutions, such as CNRS, IFREMER, and the French Institute for Marine Development. In addition, we have signed 100 agreements with the European Union and other scientific and technological professional institutions, and signed 290 contracts with industrial enterprises. The fund income of the French Academy of Agricultural Sciences mainly comes from the allocation of the national government. 1999 announced that the annual funding of the French Academy of Agricultural Sciences is 3.463 billion francs or 528 million euros, of which about 84% comes from the French Ministry of Education, Research and Technology, 0.5% from the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and 6.8% from the research contract fund. The funds of French Academy of Agricultural Sciences account for 60% of the science and technology budget of national public institutions.
