At that time, there were five gates in the ancient city of Haicheng, namely: Laiyuan Gate at the north gate, Linqing Gate at the west gate, Guangwei Gate at the south gate, Wumen Gate at the east gate and a small south gate.
Haicheng city belongs to Anshan City, Liaoning Province, located in the hinterland of Liaodong Peninsula and in Shenyang Economic Zone. It is adjacent to Anshan, the capital of steel, and Shenyang, the provincial capital, in the north, Yingkou and Dalian, the port cities in the south, Benxi, the capital of coal and iron, and Dandong, the border city in the east, and Panjin, an emerging oil field city, across the river in the west.
