Topographic features of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region;

The elevation of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is1100-1200m, and the terrain gradually inclines from southwest to northeast. The Yellow River enters from Zhongwei, obliquely crosses the plain to the northeast, and exits through Shizuishan along the terrain.

On the plain, the soil layer is deep, the terrain is flat and the slope is suitable, which is convenient for water diversion and irrigation. Ningxia has complex topography, many mountains and scattered basins, which can be roughly divided into three sections: Loess Plateau, Ordos Platform, Alluvial Plain and Liupanshan Mountain, Luoshan Mountain and Helan Mountain.

The average altitude is above 1000 meters. According to the surface characteristics, it can also be divided into southern warm plain, mid-temperate semi-desert area and northern desert area. From south to north, the whole area is characterized by the transition from flowing water landform to wind erosion landform.

Clay for brick and tile ranks sixth, diabase for building ranks fourth and gypsum ranks seventh. There are 225 industrial-scale solid mines in Ningxia. Among them, coal mine 1 12, metal mine 33 and nonmetal mine 80.
