Founded in 1952, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology was formerly the first chemical technology school in New China, and was affiliated to the Central Ministry of Heavy Industry. 1958, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate course and named shenyang institute of chemical technology. 1960 school changed its name to Liaoning university of science and technology, 1962 school changed its name back to shenyang institute of chemical technology, which belongs to the Ministry of Chemical Industry. 1998, the central and local governments have established a school-running system, which is mainly managed by Liaoning. 20 10 was renamed as Shenyang university of chemical technology with the approval of the Ministry of education, and was approved as a doctoral degree awarding unit on 202 10.
