Soil nailing wall is a kind of gravity retaining wall formed by natural soil reinforced by soil nailing wall in situ and combined with shotcrete panel to resist the earth pressure behind the wall. So as to keep the stability of the excavation face. This kind of retaining wall is called soil nailing wall. Soil nailing wall is set by drilling, inserting steel bars, grouting, etc., which is generally called mortar anchor, or it can be directly driven into angle steel and thick steel bars to form soil nails. The practice of soil nailing wall is similar to the anchor-shotcrete net used in mine roadway reinforcement, so it is also called anchor-shotcrete net to strengthen slope or anchor-shotcrete net retaining wall. The official name of Technical Specification for Building Foundation Pit and Slope Protection (JJ120-99) is soil nailing wall.
The basic difference between soil nailing wall support and bolt support;
Soil nailing wall support and bolt support are not the same thing, but different in nature. Soil nailing wall support is reinforced mesh shotcrete, and bolt support is concrete wall support.
Anchor: a tensile body composed of steel bars or steel strands, the end of which extends into a stable soil layer and is grouted in the hole. One end of the tension body is connected with the engineering structure, and the other end is anchored in the soil layer, so that it is usually prestressed to withstand the tension caused by soil pressure, water pressure or wind load, thus maintaining the stability of the structure. Generally, it consists of an anchor head section and an anchor section. In the anchoring section, the rod and soil are bonded together by cement slurry or cement mortar to form the anchor body of the anchor rod. According to the type of soil layer, engineering characteristics and application requirements, the anchor structure of soil layer anchor can be designed into three types: round, enlarged end or continuous ball.
Soil nail: a slender rod used to reinforce or anchor in-situ soil at the same time. It is usually made by drilling a hole in the soil, placing deformed steel bars, that is, ribbed steel bars, and grouting along the whole length of the hole. Soil nailing relies on the interface bonding or friction between soil and soil, which is passively stressed under the condition of soil deformation and mainly bears tension. Soil nails can also be made of steel pipes and angle steels. And put it into the soil by direct driving. Soil nailing wall support is suitable for the following soils: plastic, hard plastic or hard cohesive soil, silty soil, sandy soil or cemented or weakly cemented (including capillary water cemented) breccia, filled soil, weathered rock, etc.
