Will Honghu really leave Jingzhou? It's hard to say. It has been circulated for a long time, but the plan has never been implemented.
Honghu Lake and Jingzhou don't have much connection in history, and intellectuals don't agree with Jingzhou, so it doesn't matter economically. There is a big gap between Honghu Lake and Jingzhou in the most critical geographical latitude. Honghu city is a big lake to the west, which directly blocks the traffic to the west. Not to mention the distance of 160 kilometers.
Therefore, the regional linkage of Honghu Lake is Xiantao in the north, Mianyang in history and Hanyang in the east. With the Yangtze River Bridge, Xianning and southeastern Hubei can connect with the south. Therefore, Honghu belonged to Jingzhou only for flood control reasons, and there was no scientific basis. It is suggested that whether it is linked with Xiantao in the north, Hanyang in the east and Xianning in the south, or even developed independently, it is much better than Jingzhou.
When did honghu city leave Jingzhou? Honghu did join the Wuhan metropolitan area, but it did not leave Jingzhou. Honghu Lake belongs to the administrative division of Jingzhou and will not become!
The description of Honghu Lake joining Wuhan metropolitan area is inaccurate. Strictly speaking, the scope of Wuhan metropolitan area is decided by Wuhan, and Wu Hanyou has enough autonomy to bring in whoever it wants. Whether other cities can enter Wuhan metropolitan area, they don't want to join. Wuhan metropolitan area does include Honghu Lake in Jingzhou. In addition to Honghu Lake, Jingshan City, Guangshui City and Jianli City have also joined the Wuhan metropolitan area as observers. Four counties and cities enjoy relevant policy treatment according to the member units of Wuhan metropolitan area, participate in the meeting of the leading group of Hubei Province to promote the comprehensive reform of Wuhan metropolitan area, and participate in relevant cooperative and interactive activities of Wuhan metropolitan area.
Is it possible for Honghu Lake to become a district of Wuhan? I don't think it's possible. It was impossible in the short term before! The reason for this is the following：
1. As the capital and political, economic and cultural center of Hubei Province, Wuhan has basically formed a dominant position in Hubei Province, accounting for more than half of the province's GDP. Surrounding counties and cities want to attach themselves to it and even bring it into Wuhan's sphere of influence. However, Hubei province will not want Wuhan to expand indefinitely, which will aggravate the imbalance of regional development in Hubei province.
2. From the ground source, Honghu Lake is not the nearest city to Wuhan. It is generally included, because it is good to be close to the city. From the map, Honghu Lake is close to Hannan District of Wuhan, but from the development of Wuhan 10 District, Hannan District obviously lags behind other districts and belongs to underdeveloped areas. At present, Wuhan should vigorously develop Hannan. Therefore, at present, Wuhan is unlikely to absorb another nearby city, or even develop internally.
3. From the perspective of economic strength, honghu city, as a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jingzhou, is positioned as a tourist city, agricultural development and grain depot. As far as Jingzhou is concerned, it belongs to a strong economic city in this city, but as far as the whole province is concerned, the economic strength of Honghu Lake is not too strong. I hope Wuhan can help its economic strength by merging a region, but obviously honghu city can play little role. In addition, Jingzhou city may not want its territory to be taken away.
4. If we have to say that Wu Hanyou may absorb neighboring counties and cities, I think there are two places that are much more likely than Honghu, one is Ezhou and the other is Hanchuan in Xiaogan.
