The new Hengqin Port was officially opened for customs clearance on August 18, 2020, facing Macao across the river and connected with the Lotus Bridge.
The new Hengqin Port has four floors, and the Travel Inspection Hall is divided into two floors, one is the exit hall (Hengqin-Macau), the other is the entry hall (Macau-Hengqin), and the third and fourth floors are commercial buildings to serve the convenience. Hengqin New Port is open 24 hours a day, and the customs clearance mode of "cooperative inspection and one-time release" is implemented, with the fastest customs clearance time of 30 seconds, high traffic efficiency and shortened customs clearance process, which greatly improves the customs clearance experience of passengers.

According to the official website, in June, 20 19, the People's Government of Xiangzhou, Zhuhai, there were 24 entry-exit border inspection channels at Hengqin Port, including 3 entry-exit channels for trucks, 2 entry-exit channels for buses, 8 entry-exit channels for passengers and 6 entry-exit channels.
Inspection and release system
One-stop electronic inspection and release system for passenger cars
20 10 September, 20 passenger lanes at Hengqin Port took the lead in implementing the "one-stop" electronic inspection and release system. The "one-stop" electronic inspection and release system for passenger and freight cars at Hengqin Port integrates eight advanced technologies, such as machinery, electronics, telemetry, communication, automatic control, computer, image recognition and information management, and can simultaneously carry out the inspection business of three inspection units: customs, border inspection and inspection and quarantine.
After the system is opened, the driver does not need to get off the bus to fill out the form and submit relevant certificates, but only needs to pass the fingerprint and facial recognition system. The average customs clearance time of vehicles is 20 seconds, and the fastest time is 8 seconds. The customs clearance speed is 20 times higher than that of traditional manual inspection and release.
Passenger self-service inspection system
On May 2007 10, the passenger self-service inspection system at Hengqin Port was put into operation. The passenger self-service inspection system is a set of automatic identification system for comprehensive information of entry-exit personnel based on identity documents and fingerprint information developed by Zhuhai entry-exit frontier inspection station.
The system establishes a personnel information base in advance by collecting information such as certificates and fingerprints of customs clearance personnel. When clearing customs, passengers only need to swipe their cards and press their fingers. After the system comprehensively identifies and judges the relevant information, they will automatically check the release and realize self-inspection.
