First, the undergraduate training of Wuhan University Law School

In view of the discipline characteristics that law and sociology are the science of governing the country and managing the society, and closely following the development trend of education in the 2 1 century, an educational ideology with the basic goal of cultivating high-grade, high-quality and high-level talents for governing the country has been formed. "High taste" refers to cultivating students' firm political stance, noble moral sentiments and the spirit of being loyal to the people, the country and the law. "High quality" refers to the comprehensive strength of wide knowledge, quick thinking and the combination of Chinese and western. "High-level" refers to the theoretical accomplishment and practical talents who are proficient in law, familiar with policies and good at thinking and innovation. According to this educational thought, a distinct concept of running a school has been formed:

1. Renew the concept of education and improve the training mode of quality education. Adhere to a series of modern educational concepts such as "quality education", "individuality", "multidimensional", "frontier", "students as the main body and teachers as the leading factor". How to reflect the problems in the field of legal education. To this end, we always carry out: first, "wide caliber", merging the original seven majors of law into one major; The second is "thick foundation", which requires expanding students' knowledge in the infiltration of arts and sciences and the intersection of disciplines; The third is to teach students in accordance with their aptitude and give full play to their autonomy; Fourth, fully implement the "credit system"; Fifth, on the basis of 14 core courses for law majors determined by the state, our college has added two other important courses: environmental law and human rights law, and expanded elective courses; Sixth, highlight the practical links and improve the practice base, so that law, a highly practical discipline, can live up to its name.

2. Cultivate students' comprehensive quality and cultivate internationally competitive legal talents. Pay attention to the overall improvement of the following qualities:

(1) Legal ethics. The ideological qualities that legal professionals must possess should at least include: the professional purpose of legislation for the public and law enforcement for the people; Pursue the truth and safeguard the lofty ideal of justice; Advocate the law and firmly believe that the law is supreme; Identify with professional ethics and abide by the self-discipline spirit of professional ethics. (2) cultural quality. A legal person should have extensive knowledge background, tool skills (such as foreign languages and computer skills) and interpersonal skills. (3) Physical and mental qualities. Healthy body and good psychology are the inevitable requirements of legal person's career. (4) Legal quality. Legal quality includes legal thinking ability, legal expression ability and legal fact inquiry ability, among which legal thinking ability is the core. Legal thinking ability includes the ability to accurately grasp legal concepts, the ability to correctly establish and grasp legal propositions and legal reasoning, and the ability to demonstrate upcoming legal rulings or legal opinions.

3. We insist on taking undergraduate course as the foundation and establish the central position of teaching. Improving the quality of law education is the eternal theme of the development of law schools. Adhering to the goal of educating people, putting the quality of education first and doing a good job in teaching quality are the foundation of the school's survival and development. By establishing a brand-new concept of quality and a brand-new concept of running a school, we should establish an international consciousness and a global consciousness, and meet the challenges of economic globalization, educational internationalization and legal internationalization with international and competitive legal education. Under the background of China's entry into WTO, we should gradually establish a concept of quality, rule of law, competition and efficiency that is in line with international standards, enhance the development awareness, service awareness, competition awareness and quality awareness of all faculty members, and improve the comprehensive strength and adaptability of law education in educational competition.

Through continuous optimization and revision, the college has formed a training program for undergraduate talents in law and sociology with theoretical knowledge as the starting point, all-round development as the goal and innovative ability as the breakthrough. On the training goal, on the basis of training basic knowledge and skills, we should focus on cultivating students' analytical ability and expressive ability, so that they can become senior professionals who can engage in various legal practice and sociological work and related occupations. In terms of professional characteristics and training requirements, it emphasizes basic training, normative analysis and practical ability, and emphasizes the advantages of being in line with international standards and internationalization and globalization. In the course design, there are three sections: general courses, specialized courses and specialized basic courses. Especially, on the basis of fourteen core courses, a curriculum system combining integration with specialty, theory with practice, knowledge with innovation has been implemented, which has increased the proportion of elective courses and opened high-level and professional elective courses that ordinary colleges and universities cannot offer.

According to the requirements of the coordinated development of knowledge, ability and quality, it is a brand-new task for higher education in the new century to construct a new talent training model. The rapid development of society and the implementation of the strategy of governing the country according to law put forward new and higher requirements for higher legal education. In order to meet the needs of the new situation, based on the reality and facing the future, our college extensively draws on the experience of law schools at home and abroad, integrates existing academic education resources, fully absorbs various social resources, and carries out reform and innovation from two aspects: classroom teaching and extracurricular practice. It attempts to transform the traditional "college-style" legal education into a vocational education mode combining theory with practice in order to cultivate high-quality legal talents. It not only teaches students the necessary legal knowledge strictly and systematically, but also trains students to use the skills and methods of law flexibly, and attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' lofty concept of rule of law and the edification of rule of law sentiment. Constantly optimize the knowledge structure, strengthen the practical ability, comprehensively improve the comprehensive quality of students, and cultivate a group of legal talents with strong foundation, wide caliber, compound and high level that are urgently needed in the national legal system construction. By 20 14, our college has formed three distinctive educations in terms of innovating teaching concepts, reforming training modes and enriching knowledge structure.

1, the center for protecting the rights and interests of the weak in society-"integration of knowledge and practice" to serve the society.

The life of law lies in its application. In order to bring the value and function of law into full play in reality, we must attach importance to the cultivation of students' quality and ability to use law, from the text to the society and to the citizen's life. Our college adheres to the educational policy of combining theory with practice and always attaches importance to the practical education of law. May 20th 1992 Wan Exiang, a professor at Wuhan university law school (former vice president of the supreme court and now vice chairman of the 12th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC)) initiated the establishment of the first civil legal aid institution in China? The Center for the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Social Vulnerable in Wuhan University regards it as an educational practice base for law schools to practice the concept of "integrating knowledge with practice and serving the society".

Since its establishment, the center has been adhering to the purpose of "pursuing social justice and providing the best legal services for those who need legal help most according to law with the best legal professionals", taking "upholding justice, ruling by law first and caring for society" as its own responsibility, and has gained a high reputation at home and abroad by virtue of its professionalism, accomplishment and fruitful work. The State Council, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Justice and the Communist Youth League Committee have successively awarded honorary titles such as "National Advanced Collective for Helping the Poor and Disabled", "First National Excellent Collective for Young Volunteers", "Second National Advanced Collective for Legal Aid" and "National Demonstration Site for Young Volunteers". There are six departments in the center of our school, including women's rights protection department, elderly protection department, disabled protection department, minors' rights protection department, labor rights protection department and administrative litigation department. A hotline for the protection of women workers' rights and interests has also been jointly opened with the Provincial Women's Federation and the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.

The center provides legal services and assistance in various forms, including answering questions (telephone conversation, letter reply, reception of visitors, etc.). ), litigation case agent, non-litigation case agent (including civil mediation, out-of-court settlement, labor arbitration cases, etc. ) and law popularization. Since its establishment, the Center has received more than 30,000 consultations, made more than 30,000 telephone consultations, replied to more than 20,000 consultation letters, and organized publicity, education and consultation activities on street enforcement law for many times. The center represented more than 1500 cases, and most of them won the case, which won wide acclaim from the parties and the society. Han Depei, Professor Yu Nengbin and Professor Zeng, famous jurists and law school professors, served as legal advisers of the center, which greatly improved the visibility and social credibility of the center. The center also actively organizes or participates in foreign exchanges. Experts and scholars from the United States, France, Germany, Canada, Japan, Britain and other countries have visited the Center many times to carry out various forms of exchange visits, and the core members of the Center have also visited and exchanged in these countries many times. Through exchanges and cooperation, the center has been further developed and its popularity has gradually expanded to foreign countries.

The center has achieved positive social effects in providing legal services and assistance to the society, and also built a solid and broad practice platform for the majority of law school students. Relying on the "center", the college organizes students to carry out legal publicity in backward and poor areas and carry out "legal poverty alleviation"; Organize students to carry out legal volunteer activities, conduct special research and write investigation reports; Nearly 500 student volunteers were organized to provide legal services in the center. They help abused women to walk on the road of self-reliance, get valuable compensation for children who are disabled by accident, and help the blind find a place to live. These legal practices not only deepen and consolidate students' professional basic knowledge, but also exercise their practical legal skills and enhance their perceptual knowledge of major issues in China's democratic and legal system construction. The practical teaching of the center has achieved fruitful results. The Law School has been rated as an advanced unit of social practice in summer for five years in a row, two people have been rated as advanced individuals in social practice at the provincial level, nearly 20 teams have been rated as excellent practice teams at the provincial and university levels, and nearly 100 teams' practical works have won outstanding achievement awards at the university level.

2. Legal clinic education-a classroom without standard answers.

Legal clinic education is a people-oriented practical education, and it is a legal education mode that integrates knowledge imparting, ability training and quality improvement into the clinic classroom to realize the organic combination of legal knowledge, legal theory learning and legal practice. In 2000, with the support of the Ford Foundation of the United States, the law schools of seven universities, including Wuhan University, began to implement legal clinic education. Our college introduced it as an elective course for junior students.

In the teaching form, the law clinic is divided into two parts: classroom teaching and practical teaching, which is a classroom without standard answers. Classroom teaching includes classroom discussion, group discussion and individual counseling. By using case analysis, role simulation, mock trial, video analysis and clinic games, students are guided to think deeply about relevant legal issues, explore the true meaning of law, understand the spirit of the rule of law and train legal skills. Among them, students are the center of teaching activities. Under the organization of teachers, through mock interviews, fact-finding, legal research, consultation, mediation, negotiation and litigation, students can personally understand the situation as judges, lawyers and prosecutors, analyze and solve problems with the thinking of legal professionals, and gain lessons and inspiration in interpreting specific circumstances. Teachers' duty is to evaluate, guide and supervise students' skills in learning law, and to handle specific cases. In the teaching process, there are no standard answers to all questions. The role of teachers is to inspire students to find their own answers as much as possible, to encourage students' initiative and pioneering in learning, so as to realize the all-round improvement of students' comprehensive ability.

After a period of classroom teaching and simulation training, the students studying in the clinic will go to the center for the protection of the rights and interests of socially disadvantaged groups, and with the help of the instructor, they will contact the real parties and handle specific cases. The center has become a base for clinical practice teaching, and students' specific participation includes reply, legal consultation, non-litigation agency, litigation agency and other activities. A law clinic is like a doctor's clinic. Students provide legal services to the weak in society, just like doctors perform surgery. They apply what they have learned flexibly, which not only helps them understand the social reality, but also enhances their sense of social responsibility. Most of the teachers in the clinic have done legal aid for many years in the "center" or have many years of lawyer experience. Their "clinical" guidance to students includes receiving clients, investigating facts, collecting evidence, participating in negotiations, mediating, analyzing cases, writing legal documents, representing litigation and appearing in court.

Clinical education has opened a new window for legal education and a long-standing gap between legal theory and legal practice. Practice has proved that the effect of clinical education in our hospital is very obvious. Students receiving clinical education not only have strong professional quality, but also have strong practical operation ability. 200 1 "Challenge Cup" competition for extracurricular academic and scientific research works for college students, in which one law school student won the first prize and another student won the third prize; In the "Challenge Cup" in 2003, a classmate won the third prize and the special prize of Hubei Province. In the "Ziqiang Cup" extracurricular academic and scientific works competition organized by Wuhan University, the law school won 23 works, including 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 3 third prizes 12, and won the first prize in the "Ziqiang Cup" extracurricular academic and scientific works competition for college students. In 2000, law school students Jiang Ge and Lei Yu participated in the national junior college debate competition on behalf of the school and won the second place in the international junior college debate competition. At the same time, Lei Yu won the title of "the best debater". In 2003, the Law School Debate Team won the first "Law Cup" mock court trial debate competition and the first "Tianlun Lawyer Cup" Hubei Law School Debate Competition.

3. Sino-French law double-degree class-building an international education platform

Wuhan is a city where French-funded enterprises gather, and it is also one of the cities where French consulates are set up in China. Wuhan University has formed a good academic exchange atmosphere with France for many years. In order to meet the challenge of the international talent market and actively cultivate high-quality compound talents engaged in foreign-related legal affairs, the Law School has made full use of Wuhan's French learning and practice resources and good interaction with the French legal community. In 2002, he began to cooperate with the French Foreign Studies Institute to open a double-degree course in law between China and France.

The main purpose of the establishment of the Sino-French law dual-degree class is to break the traditional boundaries between previous professional disciplines, effectively integrate and allocate high-quality educational resources, give play to the comparative advantages of different departments and majors, and cultivate students into compound senior talents with both legal professional knowledge and proficiency in French. At the same time, we will take the opportunity of opening a dual-degree class between China and France to further develop the existing cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between China and France and enhance mutual understanding and trust.

The training goal of the dual-degree program is that students should have solid basic knowledge and legal skills, master and use French, English and computer skills skillfully, have strong pioneering and innovative spirit and professional competitiveness, become senior professionals engaged in foreign-related legal management, and better serve the country's modernization. There are three main levels of students' destination after graduation: first, they directly enter the society to seek related jobs, such as employment in French-funded enterprises, French-funded law firms, foreign-related business institutions, foreign-related government departments and international organizations; Second, continue to study for master's degree and doctor's degree in China; Third, go to a French university for further study, or complete DESS study and engage in legal practice; Or finish DEA study, get a doctorate and engage in legal theory research.

Dual-degree classes last for four years. Students need to study the core courses of jurisprudence, constitutional law, administrative law and administrative procedure law, civil and commercial law, criminal law, criminal procedure law, public international law, private international law, international economic law and other law majors. At the same time, you must also complete the core courses of French major, such as basic French, intermediate French, advanced French, French audio-visual speaking, French writing, French culture, professional French, French-Chinese translation and so on. In addition to completing the necessary credits, graduates must also pass the defense of French and legal papers and pass the CET-6 before they can get a double bachelor's degree.

Up to now, in April, 2065438, our school has carried out inter-school exchanges and cooperation with Lalor University, invited relevant French experts to teach double-degree courses in China, and also sent outstanding students to the school for further study.
