Nanning-Kunming Railway starts from Nanning in the east, Kunming in the west and Guo Hong in the north, with a total length of 898 kilometers. It is a national class I trunk electrified railway. The main line of Guangxi Nanning-Kunming Railway is about 353 kilometers long.

The line leads from jinji village Station of Gui Xiang Railway, goes west along Youjiang Valley, passes through Jiangxi Village, Wang Bu, Na Tong, Long 'an, Pingguo, He Na, Tiandong Northeast, Tian Yang and Baise, then enters Guizhou in Ba Du, then passes through Yang Xu and Pei 'ai, and then divides into two ways: all the way west into Yunnan, passing through Funing, Bailazhai, Guangnan, Zhulin and Puzhehei.

The Nanning-Kunming Railway is a long trunk line built in a dangerous mountainous area. The railway crosses expansive soil (rock), karst, soft soil area, debris flow, landslide prone area and octave earthquake area, which urges the foundation treatment and new retaining structure to adopt various high-level technical countermeasures. The long tunnel excavation of Jiazhuqing Tunnel in high gas stratum and high stress area has greatly improved the advanced geophysical prediction and disaster prevention technology of tunnels in China. Through scientific research and practice, these new technologies have raised the road construction technology in China to a new level.

The east section of Nanning-Kunming Railway started on February 24th 1990, and the west section started on February 24th 199 1 19. 1April 993 18, Guizhou section started. Guizhou, Yunnan and Guangxi "go hand in hand", and/kloc-0 was completed and put into operation at the end of 997.
