Xupu is a county under the jurisdiction of Huaihua City. Located in the west of Hunan Province, northeast of Huaihua City, swimming in the Yuanshui River. Geographical coordinates are north latitude11015'-1',and north latitude 27 19'-28 17'. It governs 7 townships and 18 towns. The total area is 3429. 1 1 km2. It is located in the eastern part of the middle and low hills in western Hunan, Xuefeng Mountain area. The terrain around the county is high and the middle is low, and the main peak of the cool wind boundary in the territory is 16 14 meters above sea level.
More than 2,300 years ago, the patriotic poet Qu Yuan lived in Xupu for nine years, and wrote such famous Chu Ci as Lisao, Jiuge and Shooting the River. Among them, he is famous for "lingering after entering Xupu without understanding what I did". Xupu is the birthplace of Qu Yuan culture. Influenced by Qu Yuan's culture, Xupu has a large number of talented people. The famous anti-British general Zheng, the first editor-in-chief of Cihai Shu Xincheng and historian Xiang Da all came from here.

The soil belongs to the middle subtropical red soil and yellow soil zone. The main parent materials of Xupu County are slate shale weathering, purple sand shale weathering, granite weathering and limestone weathering.

Xupu county belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate, and geographically lies between Anhua rainy and low temperature center at the northern end of Xuefeng mountain and Mayang basin with high temperature, drought and little rain in western Hunan. The climate not only has the characteristics of subtropical humid monsoon climate, but also has the local characteristics of sufficient light and heat, abundant rainfall, light, heat and water basically in the same season, large temporal and spatial changes, uneven seasonal distribution, diverse microclimates, large vertical differences and obvious three-dimensional climate.
