Can individual industrial and commercial households pay social security?

Individual industrial and commercial households can pay social security, only endowment insurance and medical insurance. Self-employed individuals have two choices to pay social security, one is to participate in insurance as individuals, and the other is to pay social security as self-employed. According to Article 10 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in the basic old-age insurance in the employer and other flexible employees can participate in the basic old-age insurance, and individuals can pay the basic old-age insurance premium. Article 23 stipulates that individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in the basic medical insurance for employees of the employer and other flexible employees may participate in the basic medical insurance for employees, and individuals shall pay the basic medical insurance premium in accordance with state regulations. Article 58 stipulates that individual industrial and commercial households without employees voluntarily participate in social insurance, and part-time employees and other flexible employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employer shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration. Article 60 stipulates that individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees can directly pay social insurance premiums to social insurance fee collection agencies.
