The book is divided into four parts: sex education and death education, criticism of primary and secondary school textbooks, rigidity of middle school education system and teachers' insistence.
First, sex education and death education.
Guo Chuyang quoted Suhomlinski's letter to his daughter and Fan Meizhong's article "Shake the Mountain at that Moment", pointing out that "sex education and death education are two major deficiencies in our current education". And said: "Ignoring sex education makes people not know how to love their partners, which will affect their future marriage;" Ignoring death education makes people not understand the preciousness and brevity of life, which leads to the individual's indifference and contempt for life. "Recently, topics such as parents of young students, high school students' self-mutilation due to breaking up and college students' suicide by jumping off a building are the best examples of the serious consequences caused by the lack of sex education and death education mentioned above!
Writing here, I naturally think of the incident that a girl of Gansu 19 years old jumped off a building a few days ago. The girl was molested by the class teacher two years ago when she was in the third year of high school, and the defendant went to court. The court gave the result that the degree was too light to constitute obscenity, so she could not appeal. Since then, the girl has no intention to go to school, and she attempted suicide twice on 20 16. On the afternoon of June 20th, the girl stood on the windowsill outside the hotel window and tried to jump off the building again. Such an encounter should have made the "onlookers" feel sorry for them, but the reality is that when the fire officers and soldiers struggled to rescue them, the onlookers below cheered and applauded from time to time, and some even shouted: "Jump, jump!" That night, the girl finally jumped down and a young life disappeared.
What would Mr. Lu Xun say if he saw this scene? This was the case a hundred years ago, and it is still the case a hundred years later. Human nature is still so cold and twisted.
As educators, should we reflect on something? If a girl has received death education, then she may know that this life is precious and short, cherish every day of her life, and will not easily make such stupid actions as belittling life, making enemies quickly and suffering relatives; If the onlookers have received some death education, then they may feel sorry for the girl's behavior, shed tears because of the death of a life, and choose to pray silently, hoping that the fire officers and soldiers will succeed in rescue.
Second, the criticism of primary and secondary school textbooks.
The first is the special text interpretation of several texts:
"The dehumanized Chen Qingbiao, as its name implies, is an ancient emotional expression. ..... Although nearly two thousand years have passed, the smell of rotten ink still comes from the words. ..... Xiqiao said that it is an excellent example of enslavement education and said it thoroughly. "
"Li Bai's Dream of Climbing Mount Tianmu is a complete record of a dream ... In this dream, the poet was frightened twice with different contents. One was shocked by the sinister palace outside the body, and the other was shocked by the desire to cross the line-instead, he had a beautiful woman and laughed at the sky. This is Li Bai! "
Talking about "model essay", I mainly discuss two questions with students: "First, what are Zhuge Liang's hearts and what sentences can be seen from the text? Second, how many times does the word "one" appear in the full text, and what is the strange contrast with the narrative tone of the full text? ..................................................................................................................................................................................
Lao Wang's four key words: misfortune, kindness, shame and justice. "Only through these four key words can we understand Mr. Jiang Yang's deepest intention."
For the open classes that have won awards and caused controversy, such as Necklace, Pearl Bird, A Mountain of Foolish Gong, etc., Mr. Guo Can always reinterprets those old texts with his extensive reading, his independent, skeptical and critical spirit, and his goal of inspiring students. The merciless criticism of Shimi, the revelation of Li Bai's inner desire, the proper criticism of the old loyalty consciousness and the explanation of Lao Wang's final realization of righteousness are all the best reference materials I can use in future teaching.
The disadvantages of the current primary and secondary school textbooks are mainly reflected in the selection and arrangement of texts.
"The Blind Child and His Shadow"-an inappropriate text with many defects, the editor put it into the textbook, leaving aside the task of cultivating children's pure interest; From "The Selfish Giant" to "The Garden of the Giant"-the number of words withered, the title changed, the plot was tampered with, the text was passivated, and the textbook version was completely rewritten, "turning the precious death education of the original into vulgar happiness"; Incomplete sparrow-Turgenev concluded that "only love can maintain and develop life." After being deleted, children may read such precious sentences, but in the end they lose a long-term educational opportunity of love; "Go, plant trees"-too little literature and too much political education, and even the fourth-grade children can feel the joy and false high mood; "When the human stars shine"-a lot of abridgement and random tampering, but there is no explanation or explanation. This kind of selection that ignores the charm and lack of reliability of the article actually makes the children learn ... So, Teacher Guo Chuyang shouted: "Save the children!"
After reading this book, I realized that my primary school days were actually spent studying such texts! Then my Chinese score is average, I don't like reading and I can't write. If the reason is investigated, it may be here. "Every child will be eaten alive by a set of rotten textbooks. This kind of random destroyer of aesthetic art, intentionally or unintentionally, is the biggest enemy of happy children. "
None of the Chinese teachers I have contacted dares to question the teaching materials like Mr. Guo. They may not find anything wrong with the textbook, or they may not have the courage to question it. Therefore, I admire Mr. Guo's seriousness, responsibility and courage.
Third, the rigidity of the secondary education system
Excerpt from a passage that moved me the most: Now middle schools begin to talk about love education, secret and cool education, lack of education, let alone death education. The secret knowledge promised to children is always put off until later. When I was in junior high school, I was told that I would wait until high school, high school, college and all kinds of seemingly urgent exams before I could enter college in vain. When I graduated from college, I suddenly realized that I finally got nothing.
I read this passage again and again, but I still can't help posting a QQ space. Teacher Guo is telling the truth. In many places, such as my hometown, the situation of education continues. Although it is not a radical criticism, I still admire Mr. Guo's courage and courage.
Yes, this is how I grew up. Junior high school and high school have been scared all the way for 7 years, fearing that they will be criticized for violating discipline if they are not careful; Card all the way to school, the results on the test paper are very beautiful, and the ability is not outstanding at all; I still remember being arrested and punished for watching a dream of red mansions at the same table in the self-study class of senior one. I always remember that I missed a good relationship because I was afraid of this and that in my freshman year. The school library has always been a decoration, never letting us step in; As early as 5 nights, 10 raced against time to speak, and was planned like living in prison; The holiday is compressed and then compressed, and there are more than a dozen papers waiting for you to do in a day or two ... these are just for better undergraduate examination. I got what I wanted. What about after I enter the undergraduate course? Because junior high school has been suppressed for a long time, it has no free and independent nature, and it will not arrange its own time but expects to be arranged; I don't have any skills and specialties except reciting questions and doing papers. Even my hobbies are beginning to doubt. I'm not sure what this is ... ugh! Until I left college, I still got nothing.
Even if we can pick out dozens of shortcomings of the current secondary education system, so what? Reality is still reality, which cannot be changed by a small "experienced person" complaining. There is a dialogue in the movie The Truman Show: The host asks why Truman doesn't know what kind of world he lives in. The director replied, because we all accept the reality. "Accepting the reality" is a common choice in the subconscious of the general public, and few people dare to jump out and break the silence. So I once again show that I admire Mr. Guo Chuyang very much and want to learn from him. Even if your own strength is too small to shake the whole tree, you must ensure that you will not be assimilated by the surrounding area, and you will not copy and paste your own suffering into a new generation of students. Here, put up a small flag: 10 years later, I must not be a "bad teacher" in my eyes when I was a student.
Fourth, the persistence of teachers.
In his book, Teacher Guo explained to us what is the essence of Chinese he understands. What should a Chinese class be like? What is the job of a Chinese teacher? What is the teacher's task in this educational situation?
Language: The so-called language is to educate people and become a gentle person through study and conversation again and again. Chinese is a lens through which you can see the world and know yourself.
Chinese classroom: using language as a medium, let children have a more accurate understanding of the learning object and find its connection with other objects, so as to update his understanding and further guide and improve his life. In this way, the classroom will no longer be an obligation and a burden, but will become a source of happiness.
Chinese teacher: He is an ordinary worker. He is patient, diligent and brave. He has no complaints, modesty or pride. He is willing to listen. He lives an ordinary life and pays more attention to spiritual life. He seems to be a craftsman, and his example is Spinoza. (Dutch philosopher, one of the three rationalists, advocates "freedom of thought and obeying the law in action". )
Teacher's insistence: everyone knows that exam-oriented education is not good, and labeling it as a crusade will not help solve the problem. In this sense, the task of a good teacher who is currently closed in the system is twofold-on the one hand, he should temper himself into an exam-oriented expert and help children easily get a boat crossing the sea. On the other hand, we should strive for time, expand space and take every opportunity to show our children the fascinating brilliance of this subject.
After reading the above, it can't be said that it is enlightening, but it has further deepened my understanding of Chinese and Chinese teachers. Bottom line: Being an independent Chinese teacher has a long way to go.
Teacher Guo Chuyang once summed up his educational career in the system with the words "wrong choice, defending". To be honest, when I saw these words, I had some doubts about my career choice, because so many middle school practice instructors told us "don't be a teacher" intentionally or unintentionally. However, the suspicion is temporary. After all, I'm not in the business yet. Now I am full of passion for the future.
In the dialogue on the evaluation of Guo Chuyang's "Necklace", a teacher once mentioned that there were too many highlights in Guo's class. "The students were dazzled and thought they had caught something, but the placer slipped silently through his fingers, and finally there was almost nothing in his hand. However, teachers who are generally taller than students feel very rewarding, and some teachers even say to you,' It is better to study for ten years than to listen to you'. Such classes are experts. "I dare not claim to be an expert, but I am just a rookie in the industry. But after reading Mr. Guo's classroom records and his books, I feel that "it is better to study for ten years than to listen to you"! I often can't help but sigh: how can he be so powerful! How to read so many books and know so much!
So everything written above is an expression of my little fans' admiration for my love beans in the Chinese language community.
In the class, Mr. Guo Chuyang and the teacher mentioned by Mr. Ji are different in the same class-from the teacher's point of view, they will prefer the teacher's class because of its strong operability; From the student's point of view, of course, I prefer Mr. Guo Chuyang's class, because it is interesting and has an alternative explanation different from the conventional one, which subverts the mindset in my mind. It's a pity that I never had such an excellent teacher in my middle school, so now let me recall how to teach Chinese in junior and senior high schools. My mind is blank and there is nothing.
Let's end with another excerpt from Teacher Guo Chuyang.
Teachers and students are lucky fellow travelers, teachers are the first among equals, and the classroom is the straight road to truth. Life is full of novelty, and every day is worth looking forward to.
