How should college students start a business? How to seize the opportunity?

The first "Urban College Students' Entrepreneurship Index" released by Shanghai recently shows that the comprehensive index of college students' entrepreneurship in Shanghai is only 60.5 points, which is in its infancy. Among them, the "entrepreneurial enthusiasm" index is 6 1.2, while the "entrepreneurial readiness" index is only 48.2, which is significantly lower than other indicators. Relevant experts pointed out that this shows that college students are "superior" in entrepreneurship, and it also shows that there are defects in entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities in China, and insufficient practice is an important reason that hinders the development of entrepreneurship education.

Entrepreneurship education becomes "the third education passport"

Entrepreneurship education is called the "third passport" of education by UNESCO, and it is given the same important position as academic education and vocational education. A statistic shows that in developed countries, the proportion of college students' entrepreneurship generally accounts for 20% to 30%, while the proportion of college students' entrepreneurship in China is less than 1% of the total number of graduates. Under this background, entrepreneurship education for college students has been gradually developed in colleges and universities in China.

Wang, a student majoring in industrial engineering in Tsinghua University, is busy taking part in the Tsinghua University Creative Design Competition recently. Although he is only a junior, he doesn't feel too much pressure as the leader of the creative team of master students and doctoral students. He said, because he and his team members think that he is a leader with innovative spirit and cooperative ability. He told reporters that his confidence came from the KAB(KnowAboutBusiness) entrepreneurship education course he attended a year ago.

More and more students without economics background, Rainbow Tian Ju, can receive entrepreneurship education at school. In 2002, the Ministry of Education decided that eight universities should take the lead in carrying out the pilot work of entrepreneurship education. In 2005, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the All-China Youth Federation and the International Labor Organization started the KAB Entrepreneurship Education (China) project in colleges and universities.

Relevant experts pointed out that the purpose of "entrepreneurship education" is to cultivate talents with entrepreneurial ability and independent working ability in the new era. The goal of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities should have non-utilitarian characteristics. Its main content is not on-the-job vocational training, but to explain the general law of entrepreneurship to students and cultivate their entrepreneurial spirit. However, most colleges and universities in China still pay attention to the "entrepreneurial activities" of a few people, rather than the "entrepreneurial education" of many people, which lacks systematicness and hierarchy, especially in practice.

There is a practical bottleneck in entrepreneurship education.

"Entrepreneurship education is not enough just to impart knowledge to students. The cultivation of students' ability should be gradually realized in practice. Han Wei, assistant director of Tsinghua University Employment Guidance Center, believes that practice is an important part of entrepreneurship education, but it is particularly weak at present.

Ding of Zhejiang Institute of Industry and Trade once founded Zhiyuan Culture Communication Studio and planned to register a company. However, although he has made theoretical and psychological preparations for starting a business, Zhiyuan, the first college student journal published by Zhiyuan Studio, was suspended due to lack of experience.

"Practice is the biggest gap between China's entrepreneurship education and western developed countries, and it is one of the bottlenecks in the development of entrepreneurship education in China." Li Jiahua, deputy dean of China Youth University for Politics, said, "Entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities is becoming more and more a school behavior, but most schools only launch some courses and carry out some sporadic entrepreneurial activities, and the practice bottleneck has not been opened, which hinders the formation of entrepreneurship education system."

"Entrepreneurship education practice has become a bottleneck, which is just a phenomenon. It reflects the problems existing in the entire entrepreneurship education system. " Li Jiahua said that the lack of support from the whole social environment for entrepreneurship education practice is an important reason, but the university itself also has some shortcomings. Ideologically, colleges and universities pay insufficient attention to entrepreneurship education. Some schools prefer to do utilitarian exploration that can produce results in the short term, rather than investing too much in entrepreneurship education. In terms of ability, entrepreneurship education requires teachers' level, innovative consciousness and expanding ability. The practice of entrepreneurship education needs a lot of financial and human support, which challenges the strength of colleges and universities.

Kin Hung Wong, a teacher of KAB entrepreneurship course in Hunan University of Technology, also told reporters that some teachers of entrepreneurship courses often feel unable to provide practical guidance to students because of their lack of practical experience.
