But there are many practical difficulties at present:
(1) Last September, when the research team of the Provincial Department of Education came to Thailand for investigation, it was particularly emphasized that provincial universities in the province would not increase in principle, and it was very difficult for Taizhou University to be upgraded to a provincial public undergraduate university in a short time.
(2) If Nanjing University of Technology and Taizhou University are integrated into public undergraduate universities, not only the strong financial support of the local government, but also the consent of the provincial government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education are needed. Nanjing University of Science and Technology, the alma mater of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, is affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Taizhou University is a municipal university. It is difficult for both schools to communicate and coordinate.
(3) If two universities are integrated into a new Taizhou College, statistically speaking, there will be one less undergraduate college in our city, which may further weaken our poor higher education resources.
According to the document requirements of "Implementation Plan on Accelerating the Transformation of Independent Colleges" issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education (J.F. [2020] No.2) and "Opinions on Accelerating the Standardized Development of Independent Colleges" issued by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and other seven departments (Su Jiaofa 17), the transformation of Thailand Institute of Science and Technology of South University of Technology must be put on the agenda as soon as possible.
The municipal party committee and government have always attached great importance to the transformation of independent colleges. The main leaders and leaders in charge held special meetings for many times, listened to relevant reports, and studied and deployed the handover of independent colleges. In view of the great significance, complicated procedures and various aspects of the transformation of independent colleges, it is necessary to organize relevant experts, conduct in-depth research, solicit opinions extensively and make a decision after comprehensive judgment.
At present, the two sides are negotiating on the transfer plan of Thailand Institute of Science and Technology of South University of Technology, and the specific plan has not yet been finalized.
