07 Van Gogh and Impressionist Painting
Impressionist painters usually refer to a group of artists who worked in Paris in the late19th century. The word "impressionism" was originally derogatory and was used to criticize the style of these artists' works. The representatives of this movement are Manet, Cezanne, Renoir and Monet. They often use bright color strokes to highlight the effect of light and shadow changes. In his later years, Monet lived in seclusion in the northern French town of giverny, where he built a large studio and garden, and carefully cultivated nearly 200 kinds of iris, which brought infinite inspiration to the painter and became the source of inspiration for his later paintings. In this part, Manet's concert in the cafe, Cezanne's melting pot in the studio, Renoir's Bather and Monet's Iris will be exhibited.

Van Gogh, on the other hand, prefers dazzling colors and vivid brushwork, which makes people feel strong natural vitality. This part will also show the Long Grass and Butterflies written by Van Gogh shortly before his suicide.
