Selection of solar controller:

One: Exit the protection voltage. Some customers often find that after the solar street lamp is turned on for a period of time, especially on rainy days, the street lamp will not be on for several days or even many days, the battery voltage is normal, and the controller and lamp are not faulty. This problem has troubled many engineers. In fact, this is a voltage problem of "exiting under-voltage protection". The higher this value is set, the longer the recovery time after undervoltage, which will lead to lamp failure for many days.

Two: constant current output of LED lamp Due to its own characteristics, LED must be constant current or limit the current through technical means, otherwise it can not be used normally. The common LED lamp realizes the constant current of the LED lamp by adding another driving power supply, but this driving power accounts for about 10%-20% of the total power of the whole lamp. For example, for an LED lamp with a theoretical value of 42W, the actual power after driving may be about 46-50W. When calculating the panel power and battery capacity, 10%-20% must be added to meet the power consumption caused by driving. In addition, when adding drivers, there is still a link that will lead to failure. The industrial version controller carries out constant current without power consumption through software, which has high stability and reduces the overall power consumption.

Three: During the output period, the ordinary controller can only be turned off for a few hours, such as 4 hours or 8 hours after turning on the light, which can no longer meet the needs of many customers. The industrial controller can be divided into three cycles, and the time of each cycle can be set arbitrarily, and each cycle can be set to the off state according to the different use environment. For example, some factories or scenic spots can be closed for the second time (late at night), or closed for the second time and the third time, so as to reduce the use cost.

Four: LED lamp output power adjustment Among the lamps used in solar energy, LED lamps are most suitable for outputting different powers through pulse width adjustment. While limiting the pulse width or current, adjust the duty cycle of the overall output of the LED lamp. For example, a single LED lamp with 7 strings of 5 1W can discharge at night with a total of 35W, and the power in late night and early morning can be adjusted respectively, for example, the power in late night is adjusted to 15W, and the power in early morning is adjusted to 25W, so that the current can be locked, which can satisfy all-night lighting and save the configuration cost of the battery panel and battery. Long-term experiments have proved that the whole LED lamp with pulse width adjustment generates much less heat, which can prolong the service life of LED. In order to save electricity at night, some lamp factories make two power supplies inside LED lamps, and turn off one power supply at night, so that the output power is halved. However, practice has proved that this method will only lead to the first light attenuation of half of the light sources, inconsistent brightness or early damage of one light source.

Five: Line Loss Compensation The line loss compensation function is difficult to be realized by the conventional controller at present, because it needs software settings to automatically compensate according to different line diameters and line lengths. In fact, the line loss compensation of low-voltage system is very important, because the voltage is low and the line loss is relatively large. If there is no corresponding line loss voltage compensation, the voltage at the output end may be much lower than that at the input end, resulting in premature undervoltage protection of the battery and the actual application rate of the battery capacity will be discounted. It is worth noting that when we use low-voltage system, in order to reduce the voltage drop of line loss, we should try not to use too thin cable or too long cable.

Six: Heat dissipation Many controllers do not consider the heat dissipation problem in order to reduce the cost. Therefore, when the load current is large or the charging current is large, the heat will increase, and the internal resistance of the controller field tube will increase, resulting in a significant decrease in the charging efficiency, and the service life of the field tube will be greatly reduced or even burned, especially when the outdoor environment temperature is high in summer. Therefore, a good heat dissipation device should be essential for the controller.

Seven: MCT charging mode The charging mode of the conventional solar controller is to copy the three-stage charging mode of the mains charger, that is, three stages of constant current, constant voltage and floating charge. Because the energy of commercial power grid is infinite, if the battery is not charged with constant current, it will directly lead to the explosion and damage of the battery. However, the panel power of solar street lamp system is limited, so it is unscientific to continue to use the constant current charging method of mains controller. If the current generated by the panel is greater than the current limited by the controller in the first paragraph, the charging efficiency will be reduced. MCT charging method is the maximum current of the battery panel and will not cause waste. By detecting the battery voltage and calculating the temperature compensation value, when the battery voltage is close to the peak value, the pulse trickle charging method can not only fully charge the battery, but also prevent the battery from overcharging.
