What are the main technologies of the Internet of Things?

Internet of things technology covers four parts: perception layer, network layer, platform layer and application layer.

The main function of the perception layer is to collect the data of the physical world, which is the key bridge between the human world and the physical world. For example, in the field of intelligent drinking water, flow sensors will be used. As long as the user drinks water, the flow sensor will immediately collect the water consumption this time. For example, the access card of the community will first input the user information into the central processing system, and then the user will swipe the card directly every time he enters the door. The main function of the network layer is to transmit information and send the data obtained by the perception layer to the designated destination. The word "network" in the Internet of Things actually includes two parts: access network and Internet. In the past, the Internet only opened up the information interaction between people, but not between people and things or between things, because things themselves did not have networking capabilities. Later, the Internet of Things technology was developed, which we call the device access network. Through this network, things can be connected with the Internet, and information interaction between people and things, things and things can be realized, which greatly increases the boundary of information exchange and is more conducive to the application of advanced technologies such as big data, cloud computing and AI intelligence to increase the richness of physics and the human world.

The platform layer can provide secure and reliable connection and communication capabilities for devices, connect massive devices downwards, support data reporting to the cloud, and provide cloud API upwards. The server sends instructions to the device by calling the cloud API to realize remote control. The Internet of Things platform mainly includes equipment access, equipment management, security management, message communication, monitoring operation and data application.

The application layer is the ultimate goal of the Internet of Things, which mainly deals with the data collected by devices, thus providing intelligent services for different industries. At present, the Internet of Things involves many industries, such as electric power, logistics, environmental protection, agriculture, industry, urban management, home life and so on. However, in essence, the types of Internet of Things services mainly include logistics monitoring, pollution monitoring, intelligent transportation, smart home, mobile wallet, expressway non-stop charging, remote meter reading, intelligent retrieval and so on.
