The process of studying abroad and studying in Thailand
1. Plan and prepare in advance (minimum time is one year)
Whether it's DIY or seeking the help of a study abroad agent, the core point is to make a good study abroad plan in Thailand, which is the most important part throughout your application process. A good beginning is half the battle.
During this period, I collected relevant information about studying in Thailand and learned about the institutions studying in Thailand. Common channels: Baidu, WeChat official account (related to studying abroad), study abroad magazines, and study abroad books. Gradually enter the state of studying abroad.
2.GRE/GMAT must pay attention to it
Many times, students are at a loss whether to pay attention to GRE or other exams. For science and engineering students, don't underestimate the role of GRE. Many Thai universities have no clear score limit for GRE, and it seems that there are no specific requirements for applicants' GRE. But in fact, some schools will have a statistical data of students admitted in the past, and they will clearly see the GRE score range of students admitted. This data is undoubtedly of great reference value. For example, applying for the top 50 schools in Thailand may get a low score of GRE3 10 under the standards of top universities. Students who want to enter the top 50 universities in Thailand: GRE is the most important thing, don't ignore it. At present, although business schools accept GRE and GMAT, the higher the ranking, the more students like to apply with GMAT scores. The higher the GMAT score, the more qualified students are to study business. If students majoring in finance aim at the top 30 or even 10 schools, they will find that there are very few business schools to choose from. If they feel uncertain, it is recommended to apply for GRE, and they can apply for more schools and other majors.
3.GPA: 3.5 or above is better.
High GPA is definitely what schools like, and it is also an important reference factor for applying for scholarships. Some graduate schools in Thailand mandate that only those with a grade point of 3.5/4.0 are eligible to apply for awards. Different schools do have their own thresholds, but generally we think that GPA above 3.5 is more competitive.
Students whose GPA is almost 3.0 to 3.5 should consider the schools before Thailand 100 and after 50 when applying, and the probability of successful application is relatively high. If you want to apply for a prestigious university around Top50, it is suggested that such students can start academic research in their sophomore year, highlight their academic ability through academic papers or research activities, and make up for the lack of GPA. Students who are outstanding in other aspects may also apply to the top 30 schools.
Students with GPA below 3 are advised to apply for schools with a ranking of 100. If you want to apply to a top 50 school, it's impossible unless you have a good reason to explain what you really did in your major, which affected your score.
According to the previous application experience, the class ranking of students is also more important, and the school believes in the ranking of grades. If you can be in the top of the grade ranking, you can open a grade ranking certificate and mail it to the applying institution together with the transcript.
4. Select institutions
Choosing a school is a very important link in studying in Thailand. Many foreign students in Thailand find that the school they choose is not suitable for them, which leads to the loss of interest in learning. You can consider the choice of schools from the following aspects:
1. Is there any major or project in the school that meets your interests and needs?
2. Whether the school can provide your favorite learning style;
3. Whether the school can provide certain academic evaluation standards and provide students with opportunities for further study;
4. There are enough clubs or organizations in the school to help you in your life;
5. Whether the school can reasonably evaluate students' ability;
5. Personal statement: There is no need to emphasize achievements.
Personal statement (PS) does not need to emphasize how good your grades are, but should highlight what difficulties you have encountered and how to overcome and solve them. You can describe yourself as close to perfection in your personal statement, and mention the shortcomings appropriately to show the objectivity of the content.
China's traditional modesty can be abandoned in his personal statement, but he should also seek truth from facts. Thai schools are very taboo about material fraud, which must be noted.
6. Letter of recommendation: Finding the right person is very important.
Finding the right references is also an important part of graduate application in Thailand, and the right recommendation letters can become everyone's advantage.
When writing a letter of recommendation, the recommender must indicate which school he graduated from and how close he is to his classmates. Referees who graduated from prestigious schools will also have a certain weight in the eyes of Thai schools, and they will be carefully checked when reviewing the application materials.
In addition, the student's recommendation letter can be written by a foreign teacher, but it is best to be your classroom teacher, and you should emphasize that you have taught yourself for many years or more semesters. If you are not your own foreign teacher, it is best for the referee to have a background of studying in Thailand. If you can't find the reference mentioned above, it is also a good choice to send a request to the tutor, grade director or department head. But no matter who the recommender is, the content of the recommendation letter should be credible and objective. Or the leader of the internship unit writes a recommendation letter. Leaders of famous enterprises can increase the gold content of letters of recommendation, so that they can find internships in famous enterprises. In addition to online application, famous enterprises can also find friends and relatives of famous enterprises, Tu Hai internal push network and other internal push enterprises for internship.
