Is Ganzhou, Jiangxi suitable for keeping peacocks?

Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province is suitable for raising peacocks, mainly living in hilly forests, arid and semi-desert grasslands, shrubs and deciduous forests, especially in the near waters. In the morning and evening, they feed in the fields with the group, nest on the ground, but live in trees. Mainly feed on seeds, insects, fruits and small reptiles. Living in the valley below 2000 meters above sea level, it is common to have activities in pairs, and there are also groups of three or five. It enters the breeding season in mid-February every year, and each nest lays 4-8 eggs.

Every spring, especially in March and April, proud as a peacock is most frequently courted. We know that only male peacocks can naturally open their screens. In line with the laws of nature, male peacocks are more beautiful and female blue peacocks are ugly. The gonads in male peacocks secrete sex hormones, which stimulate the brain and unfold the tail screen. Spring is the season for peacocks to lay eggs and breed. As a result, the male peacock unfolded its colorful tail screen and kept making all kinds of beautiful dance moves to show off his beauty to the female peacock in order to attract the female peacock. After successful courtship, it lays eggs and hatches with the female peacock.

Proud is also to protect yourself. On the peacock's big tail screen, we can see five-color gold thread, which is dotted with many "eye spots" composed of purple, blue, brown, yellow and red from the inside out. Once encountering the enemy, it was too late to escape. The peacock suddenly opened the screen and then swayed, and many eye spots moved with it. The enemy was afraid of this "multi-eyed monster" and did not dare to rush forward.

Proud as a peacock is a courtship performance similar to that of birds. When the breeding season comes in April and May every year, male peacocks often put their tail feathers up high, making a big splash and dazzling. Female peacocks choose to mate according to the magnificence of male peacocks' feather screens. Peacock's cry is not very pleasant. Male peacocks often cry "ah-oh", while female peacocks cry like donkeys, but peacocks cry like cats during the breeding season.
