What is the prospect of poplar processing now?
(1) Production of plywood-centered wood-based panels At present, poplar plantation wood has become the main raw material of wood-based panel industry in China, especially in North China, East China and Central South China. Taking plywood production as an example, there are more than 6,000 enterprises in China that widely use local poplar plantation wood resources to produce veneer and plywood. Poplar plywood and blockboard are widely used in wood processing industry and furniture production enterprises in China. Poplar plywood can be widely used in furniture production and building interior decoration because of its light weight and convenient processing. In the production of plywood and joinery board, except for the outer panel of joinery board, poplar is used for batten and core board. Small-diameter poplar, treetops, branches and factory "waste" are ideal raw materials for producing particleboard and MDF. (II) Application of Poplar in Pulp and Paper Industry In order to develop and expand China's pulp and paper resources, poplar plantation wood has been popularized and applied in the pulp and paper industry. From the fiber morphology and chemical composition of poplar, the content of holocellulose is high (80%), the content of lignin is low (20-25%), and there are few non-cellulose impurities. Except the fiber length, other characteristics of poplar are similar to spruce. Poplar is white, easy to bleach, with high pulp yield, high strength and good whiteness, and is a suitable raw material for pulping and papermaking. (III) Development Prospects China started to implement natural forest protection projects in key areas from 1998, and 67% of the forestry land in key areas was classified as ecological protection areas. Forest cutting in the forbidden area stopped completely, and the timber output in the buffer area decreased greatly. The total supply of commercial timber in China has shrunk 1/3. In order to achieve the expected economic growth rate, the state has adopted economic policies such as increasing investment in infrastructure construction and developing real estate to stimulate economic growth. The development of infrastructure and real estate will inevitably expand the demand for wood. With the development of economy, people's living standards are constantly improving, and their consumption concepts are constantly changing, which puts forward higher requirements for the decoration of houses. As an important decorative material, the demand for wood is bound to expand day by day. 1999, the consumption of commercial timber in China was1430,000 cubic meters, nearly double the 75.6 million cubic meters in 198 1 year, with an annual growth rate of 4%. It is predicted that the demand for wood will be 280 million cubic meters in 2005 and 300 million cubic meters in 20 15, and the gap of wood and wood products will be about 100 billion cubic meters every year. The contradiction of insufficient timber supply will exist for a long time. Because all countries emphasize ecological protection and restrict the cutting of natural forests and the export of forest products, it is increasingly unrealistic to rely on imported wood to fill the gap in China's wood demand. Vigorously developing fast-growing and high-yield plantation wood is the only way to solve the contradiction between wood supply and demand in China.
