Case analysis of management communication

Case study questions:

Communication interruption

Linda is a single mother with three children. She is employed by a trucking company as an order entry clerk. In the first two weeks, she was sent to attend a special training course from 8 am to 4 pm every day, where she learned how to classify, code and enter orders into the computer. At first, a teacher gave her a lot of constant guidance, and gradually she became more and more skilled and confident, and the guidance gradually decreased. Linda is very happy with this new job and likes this schedule. After the training, the company informed her to report to the order entry department next Monday.

When she was first recruited, maybe Linda didn't understand her work schedule in the notice, or the recruiter forgot to tell her that she was recruited to fill the special working hours from 4 am to noon. For whatever reason, Linda didn't report the early shift on her first day at work. She came to work at 8 o'clock, and the supervisor criticized her for being irresponsible. Linda retorted that she couldn't go to the early shift because she had to take care of the children. She threatened to resign if she couldn't work the night shift. Due to the tight business of the company, it is difficult to find suitable candidates in the labor market. The supervisor really needs Linda to do the work, but the classes are full from 8 am to 4 pm.
