Immortal Legend —— The Life Cycle of Ancient Egyptians
Exhibition date: March to June, 2008
Venue: Hall 4, first floor, Shandong Museum.
Ancient Egypt is one of the four cradles of human civilization, leaving a rich and precious cultural heritage for mankind. In the pre-dynasty, the ancient Egyptians formed the concept of "death is like life". They believe that "life is only a short stay, but it is a permanent enjoyment after death." They described the world after death as meticulous and romantic, as magnificent as an epic. Influenced by the concept of the afterlife, the ancient Egyptians sincerely made all preparations for their own death. In order to revive after death, they mummified the body to keep the body intact and hoped that the soul would return. The soul forms of the dead "Ka" and "Ba" reside in the mummy, bringing it back to life, and the dead will continue to live in the afterlife.
Around the eternal view of life and death of ancient Egyptians, we carefully selected 100 pieces (sets) of precious ancient Egyptian cultural relics from Florence, Italy. Through the interpretation of patterns, hieroglyphs and various funerary objects on various carriers such as papyrus, sarcophagus and statues, supplemented by ancient Egyptian myths, legends and cultural symbols, this paper reveals the mystery of ancient Egyptians' concept of eternal life, and then explores the social life and spiritual belief world of ancient Egyptians.

1. ocean centre-Foraminifera Science Exhibition
Exhibition date: February 6 to May 7, 2008.
Venue: 3rd floor of Shandong Museum 19 Hall.
Foraminifera is a kind of single-celled marine animal with a shell, belonging to the foraminifera class of fine-grained class in protozoa kingdom. There are one or more openings in the shell for the pseudopoda to protrude, hence the name foraminifera. Foraminifera are widely distributed in almost all marine environments, from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from the high tide to the low tide zone, from the inland continental shelf to the deep sea, and even the ultra-deep sea over 10,000 meters. Although they are tiny single cells, like higher animals and plants, they carry out and complete various life processes for survival and reproduction.
Shandong Museum cooperated with Institute of Oceanography of China Academy of Sciences, and based on the latest scientific research achievements of Academician Zheng Shouyi of the Institute, launched "In the Heart of the Ocean-Foraminifera Popular Science Exhibition". Under the background of various marine habitats, more than 65,438+000 foraminifera specimens, 480 specimen models and 35 scientific drawings were exhibited, vividly showing the artistic beauty of foraminifera, individual life history, biodiversity and its significance to the whole ecosystem.
