In the ancient architecture of China, what is the significance of building a tower in a house (hall)?

In China, you can often see buildings in some Buddhist temples. Building a tower in the Great Buddha Temple can also be said to be a tower in the house, which is called the inner tower.

There is indeed the Ashoka Pagoda, a pagoda dedicated to pagodas, in the Awa King Hall in tiantong temple, Jianjiang, Ningbo, China. It is a respect for the stupa, and it can also be said that it is a respect for the Buddha, so the stupa was built in the temple. This is the case in Wutai Mountain and Jiuhuashan Temple, and there are many examples of making wooden pagodas in Daxiong Hall.

Building a building in the middle of a building is a sincere admiration for Buddhism, which is called Buddhism and Taoism account in architecture. In the Song Dynasty, there was a special architectural book, Architectural Style. The Buddhist tent is made of wood, and it is installed in the Hall of the Great Hero, which makes the worship of the Buddha in the Hall of the Great Hero more solemn. The way to further worship the Buddha is actually to build a small building made of wood and put it in the Buddha Hall. For example, there is a Buddhist tent in the main hall of Erxian Temple in Jincheng, Shanxi. In this narrow space, we have made such beautiful railings, the eaves of chess games, the pavilions of the Heavenly Palace, the decorations of the arch bridge, and the bridge building hall on the bridge. In the front and left of the main Buddha Hall, two buildings are connected to the second floor, and a special curved bridge is adopted. A curved bridge spans the air between the first floor and the second floor, and then the eaves will increase the artistry. Each floor is playing chess according to the top of the bridge, which is more complicated and meaningful. These pavilions with a history of nearly 800 years are of course very precious.

In other Buddhist temples, small Buddhist temples will be built, with 1 ~ 3 or 1 ~ 7 small pavilions, such as the Tiangong Pavilion built in the Daxiong Hall of the Jingtu Temple in Yingxian County. The main hall, the annex hall and the porch are all beautifully done. Buddhist monasteries and temples in China often do this, calling them pagodas in temples, niches in temples and pavilions on fairy mountains in temples. In some temples, Aoshan is also a plastic wall, in which there are many landscape trees, pavilions and houses.
