Madame Le Roy is a unique and outstanding female winemaker in Burgundy and a pioneer in applying the "biodynamic method" to grape cultivation. Mrs. Lehua, who is over 80 years old, has the title of "Burgundy Grade" and is still the head of Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay.
Mrs. Lehua was born in a wine family and was born in Paris in the 1930s. Our ancestors started to trade wine in Burgundy in 1868. 1942, Henri Leroy, the father of Mrs. Hua Le, bought half of the shares of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the first garden in Burgundy. 1974, as a family representative, Mrs. Lowa served as the director and winemaker of DRC, and jointly managed DRC with aubert de Villaine. Since then, her brilliant life in the wine industry has begun.

Due to business differences, Mrs. Lehua left the board of directors of DRC on 1992, but still retained her equity. This is the last time that Mrs. Lehua's signature appeared on the wine label of DRC.
Leaving DRC has made Mrs. Lehua a brilliant wine career in the future. She began to devote herself to developing the wine business of Lehua family and vowed to surpass DRC in wine quality. It is precisely because of this that she was able to try the bold idea of planting and brewing that was not allowed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mrs. Lowa is a firm believer in biodynamic methods. She uses different herbal recipes for each vine, abides by the laws of the universe, and refuses to use any fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. She said that the biodynamic method is a matter of faith, and she thinks she can listen to the pain, needs and happiness of vines. For example, after pruning in spring, she said that she could hear the sound of vines, so she specially prepared a kind of herbal medicine with analgesic effect and coated it on the freshly pruned vines. After years of persistence, the wish has come true.
She invested a lot of money and effort in the vineyard to produce high-quality wine, making Lehua Winery the only famous winery in Burgundy that can compete with DRC. In 2008, Aubert de Whelan, the rational and rigorous head of DRC, officially announced that Romani Conti Winery had adopted the biodynamic method, and said that this step would be confirmed by facts. Nowadays, the biodynamic method advocated by Mrs. Lehua is being adopted by more and more wineries.
In the 20 15 list of the 50 most expensive wines in the world published by wine-seacher, the world's most famous London wine search website, Mrs. Lalu Bates-Lehua became a big winner, and 14 top wines brewed by herself were among them! There are six finalists in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
